Great video and content for sure! Very impressive stats indeed! The C8 model line up has done nothing but impress me since 2020. I'm sitting at 974 currently at Ciocca. With the E-Ray launching and receiving priority, I expect the time to be delayed more on the Z06 numbers, so plan around that too! Be well -Shane

Thanks Shane! I don’t know, I’m not so sure E-Ray will delay Z06 any more than Z06 has delayed stingray production. I think we’re lucky that Z06 appears it will continue to be more popular than E-Ray. Imagine dealers trying to juggle 3 lists at once and having to choose between them.

@@RecordsRebuilds you may be right, but I don't see how adding a 3rd model of car to be built, won't delay the other 2 models. I think the focus will be on Stingray and E-Ray models and the hand built engine FPC Z06s will slow down slightly, IMO! -Shane

Good info as always, Luke! Speaking as someone who regularly interprets scientific papers in an academic setting, the amateur nature of the drivers participating in Lightning Lap is far less problematic than the varying conditions in which the laps were set from year to year. I don't need to tell you that ambient air and track temperature play a huge role in the lap times set! However, I agree 100% with you that it's an impressive result - the GT4RS was run this year. I haven't seen a lot of HPDE or track-day video of Z06 in the hands of real people yet. Probably the car still hasn't made it into the hands of enough regular people yet. I sincerely hope that by one year from now there are enough extant Z06's that we'll start to see them in the hands of track enthusiasts.

Thanks Kishan. I couldn't agree more. I'm sure you've seen the C&D video where they say this year was some of the most perfect conditions they have ever had.

Got my Z06, Coupe 3LZ - allocation last week. No TPW yet, but hoping by Father's Day. Torch Red, Jake Graphics, Carbon Interior, Carbon high wing (which is not the Z07 high wing), black wheels, red calipers, red seat belts. Can't wait. First Vette.

Nope. These dudes have massive lap time and professional training rarely affordable to even the wealthy. Its more than real, and has been demonstrated over and over again when European car magazines come up with the same results. Unless you RACED in some GTD GTLM class then you aint setting times like car and drivers staff. Randy Pobst is a actual automotive RACING STAR if you know anything about his career. This aint some track day dude, and when he set results at V.I.R it was right in the zone of car and drivers. The Z06 isnt some automotive trick, its a actual GTLM RACECAR made nice for the street. If you lower the car like GTLM class cars are, then i wouldnt be surprised if it actually behaved very similar to those class cars. The Z06 HAULED DOWN A LAMBORGHINI TECNICA ON CORNER SPEED ALONE. Awesome car.

I compare Lightning lap times to Lightning lap times. Lightning lap is about amateurs unfamiliar with the car. GM pros and semi-pros that have ton of time in the cars are a whole different story.
