The window tint guy is a real pro. Fun to watch someone with that much skill and a good attitude

I think you’re going to like this film. I have it on my cars and it really rejects the heat well, even at 35%. And doesn’t look at all milky. Also, the XR plus has a really slight blue tinge to it compared to the XR. I bet it looks good with the ceramic matrix gray.

Matt. You shouldn't take that fabric divider out. The one connecting to the sides of the quarters and shaped like an "L". It's meant to keep you loose stuff from getting sucked out if you ever take the top off and go over say 80 90mph... ask me how I know? Lol a snatched a ball cap mid flight and never left that unhooked again. But I've lost a microfiber in the past. Just looking like an idiot and god forbid danger to others... Good job as always on these vids. Ty.

Great work. Tinting windshields always freaks me out. Prohibited in Australia as a hazard to driving. Where I am from is equivalent or worse than Florida climate wise. 102F yesterday and its not even Summer here yet.

They need to get smart and understand that the % matters alot. Here in the Caribbean, also veryyyy hot, we are allowed upto a 75% Front tint.

Wow seriously! You can’t even have the heat rejection film either that’s clear down under ? I’m getting a nice dark tint on my car next week in Florida. It’s nice to be able to have the privacy too so everyone is not gawping at you in traffic. Especially good for women too i would imagine .

Matt make sure you check out AWE exhaust systems. I watched a few videos on them and they sure do sound good

Tinting is an art

So my tint guy soaked my Alcantara on my door panel and I feel like it's not as soft as it was prior. Sonax Alcantara cleaner gonna take this back to it's previous state?

Do you prefer XPEL Prime XR plus ceramic on your windshield over Formula One and over 3M Crystalline. Please help I know you’ve had experience with all these tints and wanted to know what you would recommend overall

Nice Job I do all my windshields also, but I do 50%. I love watching my tint guy too lol. They make it look so easy. The only thing I dont get is at 38:19 he pulls the clear layer off the tint. Was that not the clear side on the outside when he shrunk it? Did that have another clear layer on the inside? When he rolled it up on the windshield he still had the clear layer on, applied the tint and then peeled another layer of clear.

You should check out flexfilm as well. Ralph (the owner/operator) has all kinds of demonstrations using heat lamps on youtube! I have their Carbon Ceramic tint on my car (rather than using "dye" they use carbon to color) it's a much more stable coloring process.

How did he address the pdr cam opening?

Cleaning a windshield is a pain, installing tint on one looks 10x worse.

Take the car back to the dealer and have them put on new brakes. How the hell did they sell you this car with it needing brakes? Also, hilarious video. I love this car. When you do decide to sell it, please let us know how much. I’m in Canada but if the price is right, I’ll fly in and take this car off your hands.

Do these tints noticeably decrease interior temps if the car is been sitting outside in the sun all day?

I thought windshield tint was illegal?

I had my Acura front driver and passenger side done yesterday with this tint and he told me he put the tint on the inside windows and I see you are installing on the inside and outside. So did my guy do it wrong?

The tint is first applied to the outside of the window to form it to the shape and size of the panel. It's then place in the inside of the window.

You just knew the installer was a Corvette guy lol.

is Suntek CIR good? I'm having that done on my corvette tomorrow morning.

I don't like that tint very much. It's very milky looking.

Of course he was checking out his trailer to see if his extension cords were dialed in

And a back windshield that’s hard to tint is a 19 civic hatchback or a type r 🤬 frustrating when I was first learning how to tint

I’m not sure if it’s overkill or just OCD but every time I have one of my cars tinted my installer always removes the door panels to be able to get the whole window right down to the bottom where the glass meets the frame. Although nice install, thinking of have my Macan done.

He could almost use a ShowCase for a makeshift garage... If they make one that large...just an idea!

Go 35% on windshield, that is what I use that in all my vehicles looks great

Here because the model 3 then the m5 wasn’t enough.

I'm from ohio. All my cars are limo 5% all the way around

Ceramic @ certain angles is milky. Drives me crazy, paid $1,250 on my 911 and I hate it

He doesn’t even prep and protect the door panels 🤦🏻‍♂️

I know it's necessary and doesn't hurt a thing, but I always cringe when they get their solution all over the door panels.

BigGary79 I feel the same way and have recently started asking the Tinter to cover door panels with plastic sheeting. Most tinters have it, yet usually don’t use unless asked.

Its not even as much getting it ON the doorpanels but behind them. I know there is moisture barriers to keep it from getting to electronics but more that the moisture can get trapped down there thats super cringe lol

Nope, it’s junk.

Working off a 40" roll he should have cut both doors and 1/4 glass all at the same time. Much less waste. That film is way to expense to put in the trash like that.

The source material is expensive. Prime XR is significantly less costly for materials, so it costs less to install. If you want top of the line products, you pay top of the line price.

That’s pretty cheap I been shopping around for the same exact tint and some people really mark it up so that price is far. I got a quote of 650 for a four door car in one shop, the other shop wanted 800 and said every shop was charging the same, that’s why I shop around to not get tricked like scumbags like him

I’m not bashing it at all. I have an M3 and an M5. I had a GT350, 1M, and S2000 recently. Nothing is as good as the RS, so I’m certainly not comparing. The Corvette is not good though. It is by far the worst of any car that I have owned in the past 10 years.

I never had any of my cars tinted simply bcuz of the mess they make. Not to mention i dont want anyone with a razorblade near my car, also the smell of soapy solution is gonna stay for quite some time after the install. At my dealership where i work, some guy came in to tint the rear windows on a mercedes, 1 week after that there was all this mold in the trunk.

Tint guys are more precise than you will ever be. You work for a dealership, of course they brought in a crappy tinter.

maxim913 mold? Somebody didn’t know what they were doing! The soapy water smell shouldn’t be that noticeable. Always tint the windows before your going to have a complete detail!

What the other guys said. Do your due diligence, and find a good tint guy. My guy is reasonably priced, always hooks me up, does a fantastic job, and stands behind his work. After 8 cars, I've never smelled the soapy solution even once after getting into the car immediately.
