The moment we forget, that the red poppy is worn to celebrate, not the fallen in war but, those who choose to run towards the bullets and bombs in an effort to stop them from falling on women and children (as well as the men with the capacities of children) you may know that chivalry is gone from society. Holding a door open will be the least of worries a generation after this.

We have to revive the template of chivalry otherwise a very new Dark Age will spread around the world from the many fires of brutal warfare erupting around the world right now. C.S.Lewis made a prophecy in this essay.

Don't we still want men to be strong yet gentle and self-controlled? Don't we want a man who will fight to protect those weaker than himself and then turn around and be merciful to his defeated enemies and gentle and respectful when he's not fighting? Isn't it a good general rule to mix strength and moral goodness? By anachronistic do you mean that no one is chivalrous today or that we ought not to be chivalrous today or that we don't need chivalry today or...?
