Yes, the 'seeing eye' is the devil. God sees all, but the devil only sees through one eye (for one is darkened). The enemy uses the phrase 'all seeing eye' because they serve the lesser of two masters.

Carefully study such a person's life and you'll find that as one tries to avoid God the more He intrudes quietly in the person's life. It may be hard to see it, but it's there. What one makes of the intrusion is up to the person.

I think i have found the door that God is behind, when i knock He seems to answer me, though not how i imagine and not every time due i think to my attitude.

I have heard it said be careful when asking God for things. Ask for strength and you might wake up with a boulder on you back. God also gives you what you need more than what you want, even if you don't realize it at the time. Faith

I'm not religious, but this is the product of an extraordinary mind. Easy to get caught up with the small change of everyday life. We don't have to go into space to contemplate the infinite.

Wisdom at its best!

I've read almost everything on Christianity written by Lewis, even that disguised as fantasy and science fiction. It's nice to listen to the readings. I The idea that finding life in space negates Christianity is clearly false. The Bible speaks to mankind's relationship to God. Anything else would be off subject. And, the relationship is as complicated - and simple- enough for one book.

How do you account for Lewis’s re-conversion to Christianity ? Towards the end of his life he became a recluse and turned his mind from all worldly matters focusing on the divine. He simply said ‘ I submitted reluctantly’ ! This isn’t good enough for me , I find it perplexing and infuriating ! How can such an intelligent man who had reasoned that God didn’t exist then change his mind ? There isn’t a satisfactory explanation for this anywhere. I could understand it if he produced a satisfactory argument overturning his early life’s work , but he simply takes a leap of faith . Why ?

@@stechriswillgil3686 If you really want to know, he describes the events and reasoning which led to his conversion in his autobiographical "Surprised by Joy." (There is also a film about it, based on the same book, called "The Most Reluctant Convert," by Fellowship for Performing Arts.)

@@stechriswillgil3686J.R.R. Tolkien was a huge influence on him. He was Catholic. They were both friends and writers. So they share many deep thoughts snd theories.

Listening to Lewis reminds me how much worse off we became when we lost him. No such material exists in the broader conciousness of society and we are so much worse off for it, trash TV and SM have undermined such greats as he.

The Russians are now Orthodox! The Soviets would not have allowed the cosmonauts to tell us if God helped them when they asked Him when they were in Space.

In fact, six Soviet Cosmonauts on Salyut 7 claimed that they clearly saw giant angelic figures outside the port hole of their craft on two occasions. The first incident was seen by three crew members. The second was seen by the original crew and the three cosmonauts who had arrived to replace them for the mission's next phase. As far as I know, this incident has never been fully explained or debunked.

In this article, Lewis makes clear he regards the kind of religion that sees "god" in space or attached to some particular location is an immature, "savage" one. I tend to agree, and see this kind of report as saying more about the mentality of the person reporting it than about the supernatural

The argument that the discovery of intelligent life in distant lands would refute Christianity is not a new one. When the Lord our God came down and preached his message it was spread to the globe by missionaries, and the same question was asked throughout history. The question why God would choose Earth is no different to why would God choose Palestine, and as we can clearly see that question has not refuted Christianity.

Refuting Christianity is not the same thing as ending the practice of Christianity. Even if Christianity were refuted 1000 times a year, that would not mean that Christians would leave that religion. It's a minority of Christians who would leave after hearing a legitimate refutation. (The same applies to many, but not necessarily all, other religions.) The majority would unconsciously cultivate some internal confusion in order to protect themselves from the refutation. Countless people are without intellectual honesty or integrity (and *proud* of it!), so their vote regarding the truth has absolutely zero bearing on the actual truth. The endurance of Christianity owes far less to the evidence and far more to egotism and the lengths people will go to address a petty existential crisis.

It is fantastic, being able to comprehend the fantastic is the only way a species can hope to be galactic, the biggest transformation required is to shed this human form for one better suited for the purpose. It is no coincidence that this human species has acquired the ability to destroy itself and change the planet as never could another species like it ever develop on eart again, the history of humans could be played in cinemas across the universe of what happens when a species falls from grace, there that would be humanities greatest achievement, the choice is still at hand, what will it be?

Brilliant.

I hope as a soul in this flesh/human won't be charged of my sins here I love this truth.
