As a machinist and tool maker, I've spent many hours at the bench or vise, with a file, taking a piece of steel or iron, carefully cut and shaped, and trying to finish it to a precise and exact size and shape, hundreds of times. Each time, it is a joy when the piece finally slips into place, filling the void with precision, completeness, and a piece of work is finished. I've done this for better than fifty years, yet each time I fit a piece into it's place, it's always a bit of a surprise when the last bit of interference is gone, and it slips into place. Many small pieces and large, have gone into the scrap pile, not fitting, and falling out, worked too long. I am better, more patient, I can see the patterns that show what getting closer to finished are, and I must be even more careful than ever, because I believe I know better than ever, yet it's still "just that last touch, the final bit one see's holding it up to the light, a square or straight edge in front or behind, and one wrong stroke can toss it in the heap as well. If I can ever be as patient with my faith that I am with mere metal, I will be sufficient, until then, I must, can only lean on my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit that lets me commune with God. I've learned many things with time, but the teaching of principle has been of the utmost importance, and I feel foolish, having met Mr. Lewis, as a boy, and only in the last year, "have met him as a man of Christ, to be amply surprised, and pleased in my education. I marvel at his quoting so many I've lived by. Truly edifying, with love and purpose. Thanks so very much, a patient, faith-filled mind indeed.

I have seen this image at least 50 times and did not notice it was a lion.

That was brilliant. ❤️. I must say it “in His image” doesn’t quite fit his notion. Im not clear enough to see what’s needed.

Christ is the church the body. The church you're referring to is a building. I gently suggest that you ask our Awesome & Almighty Father in Heaven to impart through the Holy Spirit a teaching & revelation of The Communion of Saints. Closing physical church buildings are really meaningless because the Church is the Body of Christ. Please listen again to Lewis's lecture. The answer is there. If you are not familiar with C S Lewis's writings do some reading. Also, read the sermons of A W Tozer, an American clergyman. Tozer lived at the same time period as Lewis & both died in 1963 at the same age. Tozer's sermons are more understandable of what Lewis is imparting of what the Holy Spirit has revealed to him. To understand why closing churches is of no concern to those who are part of the body of Christ who is the Church ask the Holy Spirit for revelation of this truth. Now I tell you this comment demonstrates an act of Communion of Saints; you & I are a part of the Body of Christ this is the true church. Rejoice

@@judica8873 Thank you for your advice. Nevertheless, many churches are not gathering (ekklesia) together in any human way, except by way of the internet. They are ignoring the command to not forsake the gathering together of the saints, as is the manner of some (Hebrews 10: 25). And the clear asumption in 1Cor 11 about the Lord's Table is that believers actually gather together in person. I could mention that not all believers have access to Zoom or the internet and there is the matter of social isolation ("It is not good that man should be alone"). There sis oemthing extremely devilish about the idea that you can "do church" over the internet. It's like suggesting you can have sex over the internet. And the Gospel is not being preached to the world. What has happened in 2020 has been a "great falling away", much as prophesied in 2 Thess 2.

@@proudhon100 yes I agree with you that so many many souls are lead by false teachers of the Word. However, I have been moved by the Holy Spirit that our prays for the misguided sheep to be enlightened by the Holy Spirit's subtle communication with the poor souls. As far back as the late 1800s men & women of God described an encroaching apostasy infiltrating Christianity In the 1920 up to the present this infiltration is vast. It really goes to demonstrate why discernment, through the Holy Spirit, must be used so we do not succumb to the false teachings of these people on internet, television, radio. For further discourse on your discussion in you reply I recommend 2 book by Dave Hunt & Thomas McMahon: 1) The Seduction of Christianity. 2) Beyond Seduction.

Yes - 9:02 : Personally, I use the American-i%ZZ%m when I despise the idiom. I think that this may pertain here (for him); never mind the history he has recently lived through, though: Was there actually going to be a distinct motherland tongue (of any prestige) if forced to fight[/agitate] from the colonies and spin-offs following defeat in the insular western European islands? [GB/IR] So, the amphibious assault on the European continental mainland was to invite the Americans to take a pop (- at our delight -) on the various collaborators, and the very den of the enemy, ultimately. He was a professor of [Modern] English.

That's not always the case: The "Kings and Generals" channel, for one, occasionally drops very out-of-place clangers of American idiom in their video narration, in the most British R.P. voice.
