Yes, it is stretchy! The first week I tried to play C Major I honestly thought I would never be able to get it. But by the second week, had it down! Don't give up folks, you'll get it!

Thank you i have been trying for few days.

There are approximately 1,013,900 words in the English dictionary but none of them could explain how relieved I was when I finally mastered the C chord. I think I struggled the most with this one because it didn’t have any alternatives. BUT THANK GOD I FINALLY GOD IT 😂

how long it was

I remember thinking the C chord and bar chords felt like the end of the world. They felt like an impossible obstacle since I have short fingers. But i practiced and practiced and practiced some more. And now, though I remember struggling, I can't remember what caused me to struggle. It's just so easy now it's like "why couldn't I do this?". I won't lie to you though, you'll see many comments here saying they mastered it after a week or 2 of practice but for me it wasn't that simple. You see my fingers are SHORT!!! Are they too short to play guitar? I used to think so but now not at all. This C chord took me about 3 months to be able to play accurately with a struggle and about 5 months to play comfortably. If you put in the work, the results will come. Small hands/fingers just means you need to keep practicing. You can do it!

Thanks for that I’m on my 9th week and still struggling on c chord. This makes me feel a bit better now and hopefully I’ll pick it up soon. It’s frustrating and makes guitar playing a drag. But I will keep pushing on.

love seeing the encouragement here!! ☺️ C major was definitely a struggle for me trying to get those strings to ring out clearly, especially because it felt awkward at first having 3 fingers spread over 3 frets! arpeggiating through chords is the best way to know where the problem areas are! 🤍

Glad you mentioned the “short finger”issue. I had that struggle and needed a different guitar....so important to try out guitars as necks are different thicknesses and widths. When I went guitar shopping, I specifically tried to play a C on each one. Found one that I could play the C on and it is a decent beginner guitar.

I will eventually get to more Barre chord content, but I'm going to start easy and light with the basics for our fresh beginners. :)

I have shorter fingers and it helped if I angle my hand and play on the side of the finger tips and lift the guitar neck up a little higher.

This one's gonna take alot of practice for me.

I still have little problems with the E7#9 - or the 'Hendrix' chord. I'm much better at it, but it still needs help. The A string when I do a B flat barre chord is troublesome too. When I pluck the A string, all I get is a dull thud. :)

Of course, the E middle finger can touch the A string above it if it’s behind the C ring finger (aids in not muting the G string), and the C ring finger can mute the E string if you don’t mind not having a first inversion voicing.

i have a problem, when i play any chord i mute the strings i put my fingers on, not the unwanted. for example when i play the c major i put my 3rd finger on the second string just like you did, but it mutes it and it’s the same for the other fingers, idk if that made sense but please help!

Some people play c major with muting low e string with thumb how to do it?

If anyone struggles with not playing the 6th string, I just mute it with my ring finger so I don’t worry about my strumming.

Now being a man with fingers twice as fat as yours, its a pain learning to not touch and mute the neighboring string. Not fun at all. And I have to trim my nails twice a week and hate it....lol

Thank you! It’s the Orangewood Echo. I really enjoy playing it. It feels very comfortable to me. And it’s a great price for what it is! This model is without the pickup, but they have a pickup option as well. :)

Hey quick question! I am putting new strings on my guitar but the tuning pegs are hard to turn after I put the strings on. I think I just need to play them a bit more and stretch them but I just want to make sure it's normal. Thank you and Love u!!! ❤️

Yes, it is normal for them to tighten up at times. Don't be afraid to turn them if needed. Just do it carefully. :)

Because the root note , c , is on the fith string . Usually always start from the root
