That's not a "cat eye" Silverado. They didn't come out until 2003. Even with the low mileage, that thing is a rust bucket and I too would run away.

I'm from Texas so I've never seen rust like that, it's awful. There's no way I would buy a vehicle that was rusted like that. I have an '05 cat eye silverado that I bought new, but I would never sell it. And it has zero rust anywhere.

Definitely not cat eyes. I frown when I see those chromed steel rims., basically fancy spare tires. However, we have different definitions of rust and rust buckets. That surface rust is what occurs from minimal use. The body itself was actually quite decent. All in all, too rich for what it is, you're dad can find better for 17k.

They probably see what dmaxs go for, and don't understand a gas truck is about half that. Don't trust the mileage. Ebay has scanners that can change the mileage in 2min. That's an $8k truck.

The reason these low mile decent trucks are selling is because a new 2500 is 60k!! So for 17k u have a fairly decent truck that with some love u could get another 10 years on this!!

Yeah and the exact same truck 2 years newer same shape but black with 50k miles I payed 4k for in vt will last 15 more years is a good deal to them I guess ! One good oil bath or a fluid film type would straighten that truck right out! A lil too much for my blood but has huge potential to be a beast. One of the best body types.

thing was pretty rusty, but the value of these gmt800s is starting to climb back up. 8 years ago that would be a 5-10k truck, now it's a 17k, which i could see it going for at a dealership. back in the day i got my lbz duramax for 10k, high miles but great condition, not a spec of rust.
