The trim is pretty important especially when you want to get the bow up before jumping over stuff. Looks like the motor mount was moving a lot and not positioned correctly.

Trim is everything mate, from speed to turning abilities. I'd be getting that sorted ASAP

Don't get rid of the windshield completely. Definitely do the roof setup like Wilkey's and put lexan in. Cleetus has the full windshield, and him and George always stay relatively dry in the heavy stuff. Jackstand always gets blasted, and he has the same setup as your boat currently has.

Put dock lines through the center of the cleat and then the loop over the ends. Make sure you have all your safety gear. Throw cushion enough life preservers/vests for yourself all passengers, first aid kit, horn or whistle (something to make noise), bow & stern light and some rope. FWC is pretty strict and they will pull you over and do an inspection.

@@tristonalicky2139 I took it. 15 years ago. It’s been awhile. People love to criticize when I’m trying to be proficient at 100 different things. I ordered a pair of life vests. Paddle. Throw cushion and fire extinguisher are in the locker. Has nav lights. Ordered an air horn.

I didnt even like drifting but i subbed to your channel because i happened to see a few of your videos on a few other random things and i liked the way you are so meticulous and do things the right way. I was subbed before i even really watched much of your drifting content. Now i watch you at these comps and find myself enjoying them because i have been following your process and work to build these cars as you get them ready.

To answer one of your questions. You absolutely need to be able to trim out a boat to get it up on the step. This will minimize the amount of water under the hull and allow maximum speed. Also, feed the dock line through the throat of the cleat, then up and over the ears. This will allow the line to keep itself tight while it sits on the dock and not drift off.

Trim is super important, people adjust trim in airplanes, im having trouble finding a way to explain how important “trimming a boat” is to its performance, and how a boat rides on the water, is super difficult

I don’t think most jet skis normally even have trim though. I’m familiar with what trim does. And I will get it working.

Definitely need that sand trap for the cooling system! +100000 on the roof! It makes boating so much more fun when you’re not being cooked like a lobster. Congrats on the new boat! The list of mods and engines you can toss into it are endless. I like what Kyle did to his with the turbo K24.

That button I'm sure was for your rugged radio. It is usually push to talk, so when your cruising and listening to music it's not just audio on top of audio.

Stainless steel clamps on everything is a must! I worked at a seadoo dealership for years.. rebuilt around 30 of those engines. You can make them make some good power!

You should build the cage to wrap with sunbrella mesh fabric, so that it breathes, but also blocks most of the sun. These boats look like so much fun. If I lived somewhere other than Ohio, I would consider owning one.

If you plan to go to dual battery, they make a dual battery shut off switch that let's you switch from battery 1 to battery 2, or both. I have one on my boat so I can leave it on 1 battery when you are anchored up so that you don't have to worry about the bilge and radio draining the battery to the point where it won't start. Also, regarding the bilge pumps. I'd recommend installing both with their own float switches, but wiring them both to a 3 position switch where you have OFF-ON-Auto so you can either use the floats or override the float in case it fails (and they do). They sell switch panels with an alarm which is also nice.

Super exciting stuff! Its going to be so good! You are going to need that trim functional and in a decent place. Way more important than usual due to the size, layout, and nature of the boat.

On the docking cleats, you put the rope loops through the center hole and then wrap it around the outside of the cleat😎😳

Finally Taylor gets a boat. Doing it solid it looks like. Dual power sounds like a damn good idea. You sure think things through.

The first time you launch the boat pull the winch strap all the way out and crank the boat back on. When you replace them dry as you did there is always play in the strap you can’t get out without the weight of the boat. Also when you use the cleats run the loop of the dock line thru the cleat and then up and over. Looking forward to this content!

I love these little jetboats! If I'd add a top to a boat like that, I'd do a taller windshield and a rollbar. Then do like a bikini top on a jeep where it snaps across the top of the windshield, lays over the rollbar and each back corner has a strap that cinches it tight.

Taylor, trim is something you will absolutly need if you are going to use the boat, if you just going to park it then no need, but if you intend on enjoying it you will absolutly need it, look at it like this, your driving your miata with a 4 cys then you use the trim and now there is an ls in there.....

Cut the half windshield off and do it like Blake’s and love the Tek wood idea.

Definitely good choice to rotate the tube on the bucket. Probably don’t want to cover them up completely bc there a lot of force that comes out of there and you don’t want the bucket to blow off. The OEM buckets have a little turn out. Two bilge pump is a good idea. 1 big battery is good. Now if your stereo had an amp and you sat around the parking spot playing music for a long time it would drain the battery and it might not be enough to start. Just like a car. But at least wherever your car battery is dead there’s not a chance of gators floating around, lol. But if you do two batteries put in a perko or equivalent battery switch. Therefore you can even turn it off. Always check that carbon seal as well. It’s a seadoo. They do and will leak.

Yo Taylor! One thing you may want to consider, since I didn't see one in the video, is a sand trap for the water intake. Sand in the cooling loop can block coolant paths in the engine and cause overheats. There's a company, minijet boat builder, who has a wicked sand trap, they even a video on their youtube channel showing it in work.

I can’t wait for the content that this is gonna bring. Also on a side note, I can not believe that nuts and bolts has not hooked you up yet. Like if ever there was a fabricator that could use that stuff. Be super careful using the bucket as brakes, that angle will plow the nose , which I get it it’s the only option.

Looks like a sweet ride. Cheap price, high end piece & an out of state registration do raise a couple questions. Hope it’s not stolen, but I’m sure you checked. Don’t forget your coastguard required stuff (jackets, horn, fire extinguisher, flares, registration etc.).

Another important reason to keep the factory mode/arrow buttons, those buttons are how you get into “performance” mode. Which basically gives you full power from a stop and stuff. Normal mode rolls in power from a stop
