I love these videos, i like to see what kind of old stuff you find. Almost everything i use for my woodworking hobby is second-hand tools I've bought and restored.

Hi Phill, More bargains at your local car boot sale, you never know what you could fined in these places, I do enjoy the car boot. looks like a decent bench wood vice there for £10 that is a good buy, I bought a wood vice about 20 years ago for £8 at Oswestry car boot sale , that was a good car boot sale it closed for good soon after. I go to Chirk Car boot sale which is 5 miles from Oswestry and 10 miles from Wrexham, it is a big car boot if the weather is nice. Always need Chisels and screwdrivers, some time you get better quality second hand ones than brand new one. You got some good hand tools there, as always a great video , catch you soon, Take care

Cheers Shaun so far the local boot sale has been pretty good this year for old tools. I plan on doing a few restoration videos soon covering some of the tools I have bought this year. I remember going to a few car boot sales in Wales years ago. I went to a few in port talbot which had loads of bargains. The deals seem to be a bit better at Welsh car boots. Take care Shaun!

Nice collection there Phil, will you be doing a follow up on how you restored them ? Asking because I often see old tools like these at car boot sales but don’t buy because I wouldn’t know where to start getting them back to working condition

Thanks Phill, you certainly got a lot for your money there, the best bargains are definitely the Thor mallet and the Stanley 5000 screwdriver, but the side cutters and the Rabone rule are nice finds too. Old chisels especially firmer style are cheap as chips ( cheaper per Kg I reckon ) if you carry on purchasing I would recommend you set yourself some parameters, maybe only anything from Sheffield, or only Bevel edged, Wooden Handled, Brass Feruled etc. Otherwise you'll end up coming home with 20-30 every week ! It's hard to select by brand until you build knowledge as many stamps are hard to read and any labels are long gone. Have fun restoring them, it will be interesting to see if you chose to sell any on and what you can get for them, as you showed recently you can buy new chisels for just a few pounds so you pay your money and take your choice, but like you I rather like old chisels and the steel can be excellent !

Cheers Andy you make some very good points. Currently my only parameter is price. If it's cheap I'll buy it 😆. I can't really resist any chisel if it's cheap enough. I might make a video about restoring and selling the chisels I have found as that could be interesting 🤔

You need to find a pouch to store the chisels
