If you have a Honda with a k series forget the rotrex, trust me I made 500whp with one and it blew up in a week being easy on it. If you do you need a waaaay bigger oil cooler with a fan on it for idle. Not worth the hassle get a turbo

Advice is great and is exactly what conclusion i came to. I didnt go on the ideas of forums about similiar cars but instead looked into boosted for my type of driving. Fitted a roots blower to my e36 318is with standalone system, totally transformed the car and runs 0-60 nearly as fast as a euro m3! But its more enjoyable, pulls from nothing to red line right away no slow going as its not in the powerband. So yeah dont listen to sellers and the regular joes, many of which have not boosted there own car and seek something that goes to your driving style or purpose.

Everybody thinks those Rotrex blowers are so cool but I don't get the hype. They have a linearly rising boost curve that only makes Peak boost at very high RPM. You might make 4 PSI at 3000 RPM and 17 at 7000. They make shit for power down low. A roots type blower will give you 17 PSI at 2000 RPM and carry it practically to redline. I've driven both and I greatly prefer the positive displacement blower

Great stuff. Do you find it an unnecessary risk to run adjustable cam gears w/o locks? Do you find that the cam companies have built in over lap advancing intake valve opening time eliminating need for adjustments? Or case by case basis? Example...i have a drag 2jzgte w billet 80mm but I also use direct port nitrous. For this application do you find it unnecessary expense or more crucial for every hp for drag?

I installed a centrifugal supercharger on a 2016 Jeep with the 3.6 and it was still a dog until around 4500 RPM and then it was balls to the walls. I would say a roots supercharger would be better for a jeep.

I would like you guys to make a video talking about what it takes to build a reliable 1000hp Honda engine, weather its B, K, F, H or even D series . My reason is alot of your fans and subscribers are racers but don't have the money to go out and build a promod so alot of us go the Honda route. I'm currently in the process of building a B18v CSS Block Eg Coupe aiming for 600-800whp on a BW S300sx .. full weekend drag car.

There is lots that go into it. TO much to explain in a video. Your gonna need like 10k for the motor and trans to be able to stay alive at 1000hp. Go to honda-tech and get to reading. JFK had a great thread on d-series.org about breaking his d16 into 9's.

RAY VAL Hey I just started to mod my 2004 TSX 6mt K24A2. Loving it!! So many bolt on parts for int/ext/engine as well as tuning available now. Plus if you can fabricate, paint and/or know electronics like i do, it makes everything worth it. When i bought the car in 2008 there was nothing available for mod. Lots of xover parts from the accord/civic si/rsx. Just depends on what you want to do. Just have fun with it. Thats why we do what we do. Tuner for life.

Looks like a lot of problems come from ignorant people who want to build their car for a number. 500whp is a nice, whole, feel good number that a lot of people chase. Build your car for a purpose instead of a stupid ass number.
