    My first bike was a 2007 v-rod (still have it) I learned on it for about 6-7 months before really taking it on the highway though. It’s all about the process. You can start on anything you just have to be responsible and patient before making big leaps.

    As another V-Rod Muscle owner i agree with most of what you say about the bike, they are great and underrated bikes. It's been a while since i've ridden a sport bike but I don't think of the v-rod as having a lot of low end torque. Unlike most Harley's that can make way more bottom end this thing doesn't even way up until almost 5k rpm.

    @@FastLaneD The problem with newer Harley's is that all their torque runs out by 5k and they have nothing left while the V-rod is just waking up at 5k. Anyway, thanks for making the videos.

I took my MSF course 2 years ago but haven’t bite the bullet yet to buy my first bike. Decided now to get a bike in Feb, March 2022 (beginning of riding season). Gonna get something easy to practice and then upgrade. My other dream bike is Suzuki Hayabusa. This V-Rod and the Busa are my dream bikes and hopefully one day I can have both in my garage. My 2014 V-Rod Muscle was my first bike. The only motorcycles I ever road before was the old 250 CC bikes at the rider course I took. The bike is pretty heavy and the fat back tire makes it a little hairy to turn sharply at first. But I love my V-Rod and do not want to ride anything else. Ive jumped on my sisters Street Bob and her husbands Sporster but prefer the smooth ride and power of my bike.

    @@HassanKhan-ck5gq Whats up man? Yeah, respect the power but don't be intimidated by the Vrod. It is a pretty smooth ride really. Just don't try to test your limits until you are completely comfortable and confident in your riding ability. It has a lot of torque and keeps pulling and pulling up in the higher RPM's. Just work on your stop and go and slower turns, The fat back tire takes a little getting used to.

    I traded a 2007 Fatboy for a 2015 Vrod, they are different bikes, the fatboy is definitely more a comfortable, heavy, slow cruising bike, the vrod is more sporty, aggressive, in top gear you push it and the bike pull forward, very fun bike to ride, you cant help it you are happy throttle riding this bike, everybody look at it and when Is parked people get close to look at it, I love it. I had only one problem with this bike and was with the fuel gauge, the rest of the bike bulletproof. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qqVkspapkt2-grA.html

    Hell no, that Porsche racing engine is too strong for a newbie. It’s a 1250, with 125 HP at the rear wheel...best to learn on something more meek in my opinion.

  • @zf4hp24

    @zf4hp24

    4 жыл бұрын

    As an owner, no, it's not really a preferred beginners bike, but not because of the power. That's simply a function of throttle twist and if you're disciplined you'll know immediately how far you should go. It's more the weight and, let's face it, the low speed handling characteristics. Doing a slow-speed, 20' 180 turn on a V-Rod is damned near impossible for a newbie. The scariest part of a V-Rod for beginners is crawling along, not ripping along at warp-speed. Also, for the record, it's 123 HP at the crank. And FastLaneD, where the hell was that ride? That's beautiful countryside.

    Mark out West mine is dyno tuned after a basic stage 1. Chart shows 125 at the wheel, so bone stock is a bit less. I will agree however that this was built as a drag bike and sucks at manouvering if you are uncomfortable with that 32 (or close to it) degree lean. If you havn’t done stage 1 with a tuner, you are leaving a lot on the table as far as performance.

    Great video but you are wrong about the torque thing. Low end torque has nothing to do with 0-60 speeds. Low end torque means the power comes on in the lower rpms which isnt true at all for vrods. The power is much higher in the power band. Just an fyi

  • @FastLaneD

    @FastLaneD

    4 жыл бұрын

    I 100% disagree with you. The power is in the low to mid range on my v-rod. You can feel the bike losing torque as you get high in the power band. The power is high in the power band on my Yamaha R1. It pulls like a freight train until redline. Thanks for watching 🤘🏾

    You can disagree all you want, but you are wrong. Maybe you are confused about what torque is. Google vrod torque chart. The torque is at the higher rpms.

    First bike??? Get an old Honda for $2,000, ride the wheels off it, if you drop it? Who cares. Ride until you stop dropping it and having "Oh Shit" moments, THEN buy a nicer bike. A Vrod is totally wasted on a new rider, especially if they fuck it up and get killed in the process.
