Buying a MUSCLE CAR | How does the HEMI V8 Dodge Challenger RT Stack up?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Challenger Review Chapter 1 : • 2019 Dodge Challenger ...
After renting and spending a week in the 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T (Challenger RT) V8 Hemi, I realize the appeal of the big, heavy and rumbling American V8 muscle. This is the MOPAR Dodge Challenger review. How does this stack up against the Mustang GT and the Camaro SS?

7:15 Were you on the wrong side of the road? The biggest downfall of the car itself is it's not a scat pack? So what's the biggest downfall of a scat pack? It's not a Hellcat? I hate to do it, but you gotta hold this L for that. Each trim caters to different demographics; you're gonna have those who want breakneck speed (Hellcat, Demon, Redeye) while others will want the same but just not as much (Scat Pack) because they don't see the use for 797 HP on the streets. Going to the track is a different story. Then you have those who want speed as well, but don't want to break the bank so they go for the R/T. Next, you have the GT and SXT for those who couldn't care less for the thrills and are more interested in the looks of the car. To each his own. I have respect for the lower trims despite their lack of top of the line speed. At the end of the day, it's personal preference which shouldn't be altered by others' opinions.

Insurance is also more. Rides stiffer too I believe. Still won't beat a Camaro SS /LT1 or Mustang GT on top end , 60-130 mph roll or in the 1/4 mile. At least with the RT and the 5.7, you should know better than to try. Any car that can run mid 13s in the 1/4 mile and do 155 on top end can hardly be considered slow. I am very anxious to get an RT asap, just have to sell two or three of my current vehicles to pull it off.

I don't know what the curb weight of a Challenger/Charger is, when fitted with the V6, but the time honored definition of a muscle car (over 50 years) is any car possessing at least 1 hp per 13# of body weight. That puts the V6 at 1:13 or just outside of it, in the Challenger/Charger body.

The time honored definition of a muscle car is any car with a hp to weight ratio of at least 1:13. Don't know the curb weight of a Challenger with the V6 but it is likely around or near that ratio. The R/T comes in around 1:11.2 and of course the ratio falls further for higher performance versions.

I think the presence of the Scatpack makes the Challenger RT WAY underrated in terms of what you get for the price. I have rented this same car you rented no less than 3 times in the last year and EVERYTIME I drive it I end up wanting it MORE. In terms of fast cars there is nothing that drives like a Challenger which is why I keep coming back to it. I especially like the addition of the prominent hood scoop for 2019. When you compare comparably equipped Challengers the spread in price is actually closer to 10k in difference factoring in rebates on both. Is the Scatpack 10k better? I am undecided but the 10k difference would actually put you in a Scatpack Widebody which looks especially BA! THAT SOUND THO! OMG! 😍

Did you call beforehand making the reservation to see dates that the R/T was not booked or did the rental agency have the R/T transferred to the agency location you were doing the pick up. I'm looking to do a Challenger R/T rental, just trying to find out the steps to be sure that I get an R/T Challenger and not a v6 Challenger. Thanks.
