Romans 8:15-16 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:/inspiration+Whenever we are in bondage to someone or something, we live in a state of fear. One good example is what happens when people get bound to credit card debt. We get so bound up in our debt that we live in a constant state of fear every time the phone rings. We believe it's one of our debt collectors. Every time a bill comes in, we are afraid we're not going to be able to pay it. Debt is a horrible master. Any kind of slavery breeds fear. A slave is under constant fear and constant alarm, but when we are freed in Christ, that fear goes away. In this passage Paul tells us that we don't have to be slaved to fear because we are not slaves to God. We are adopted to God, by God and with that adoption comes love and affection. Children who are adopted by a parent don't feel fear; they don't feel like slaves. They feel accepted. They feel wanted. They feel loved. God literally has taken us as strangers and brought us into His family. We are not slaves. We become His children even though, by birth we had no claim to Him, He still has taken us in and now we're under his protection and we're under his care and as such we obey him as a child. We can cry out to him as a child cries out to a father, Abba. God is our father above all things. Yes, He's a holy God but He is still our father. Even though our earthly father might be a great and powerful man on this earth, even though he may run huge corporations or be the president of the country, to us he is still "daddy." Paul helps us understand that in this passage. This great and almighty Lord of all creation is our daddy, who loves us and longs to protect us and we do not have to fear any longer once we become one of His children /prayer+ Father, I thank You for making me your child. I am thankful that I can come to You in sincerity just as I would come to my earthly father. Challenger GT is a great Challenger option for a daily driver in the north or northeast. All other Challengers are useless in the Snow/Rain/ice. So for those who want to be able to drive your Challenger November thru March, the Challenger GT is the only choice. The Pentastar engine is a great Engine, and the fuel economy is also great.

I live in Nebraska and my Challenger wouldn’t even get up a “rise” (not high enough to qualify for a hill) in the winter. I ended up selling it with 43,000 miles on it (I only put 24k of those on). What other daily driver car can you get at that price point with Awd for winter. You can choose between the WRX, Mazda 3 awd, audi a4, bmw 3-4 series base models only and 2-3 years used. All of these have 2L turbo engines That 3.6 sounds great with the factory open air intake that dodge sells And this car runs 5.6 to 5.8 0-60 times which James would agree is plenty fast since he owns a miata

I bought a 2017 Challenger GT back in March and I love it. 1) it’s AWD and I live in Northern Michigan, 2) I love the body style, 3) it’s big enough in the back seat for me to fit three car seats in if needed. Is it under powered compared to the V8’s? Yes. Is it faster than anything I’ve owned up until this point? Also Yes. I think it’s a great first “muscle” car for people who live in northern climates. My wife can get in and drive it no problem and I don’t have to worry about her losing control. It serves a very specific purpose and it does that very well. That being said, I will probably drive this for 5-7 years and then when my kids are older buy a summer Challenger with a V8 in it….

I had one for a couple years. Reason being is it is a fantastic all year car when you live in areas that get snow. Is it the fastest thing ever? No. I got a best time of 6 seconds flat on the built-in 0-60 timer. But you don't need 485 or 700hp to have a good time and get into speeds that would get you arrested. Hell I can do that with 155hp I have now. No, this car was cool because it was a great cruiser with decent fuel economy, great looks, and the ability to get out of a parking lot in winter. And do AWD donuts in the same parking lot before leaving, if you wanted. Everyone complaining that they should've put the AWD in the Hellcat doesn't understand how expensive that system would be to handle all that torque. Just enjoy the GT for what it is, or buy an RT and snow tires and hope you can keep it pointed in the right direction.

The Magnum/Charger/300 had the V8 with AWD and uses the same unibody underpinnings. It was actually sales that killed it off and not packaging. On top of this the system was originally rated to only around 400 torque (Base 5.7 power levels) so that means it would not survive anything with more power. The current system actually carries a lower rating. (but is a bit lighter)

I bought my second Challenger AWD last month. Went from a 2018 to a 2021. ONLY because factory warranty expired at 60k. Never had any issues with the 2018. Absolutely love the car. It is big.....and comfortable. I drove in Upper and Lower Michigan snow in the early 80's. In all RWD cars. 81 Capri, 72 Nova, 71 Cutlass, 84 Fiero (yes a mistake but I bought it NEW in 84.) Bottom line - it's a highly capable AWD vehicle that gets 27-28 MPG. I don't have to pick up front or rear end of my car if it went in the ditch (and yes I did) because it helps me STAY OUT of the ditch. Also, I'd rather not pay RT or Hellcat premiums for insurance. I'd seriously consider a HEMI in AWD, but it's not there in Challenger. Don't want an older Charger w/ AWD, and I've owned lots of 5.7 HEMI vehicles - 04 Durango (w/AWD-4WD), 14 RAM 2WD (absolute BS in snow), 06 RAM 1500 4x$. and a 2021 RAM 1500 Bighorn.

We had that pentastar engine in a Ram pickup at work. POS if there ever was one of an engine, that was in the shop for about a quarter of it's life.(Our work vehicle averages 1000,000km a year of driving, so we're turning over trucks every 3 years or so) It was a dog in that standard cab truck which probably weighed as much if not less than this all wheel drive Challenger. But to be fair in my bias, my family history of Chrysler product ownership as a kid was just one POS after another. So much so that I've only owned Japanese brands and every Chrysler product I've driven and it's quality has just reminded me why I never even consider one for any personal vehicle purchase. Our current work truck is a Ram, but the reason it's been solid is because the drivetrain isn't Chrysler; Cummins diesel with an ASIN transmission. So far at 155,000kms and still no issues, vs that pentastar POS that at that point had had it's head off 3 times by that point!

This was started, I think, in the 300/Charger so it had an AWD. At that time, they didn't have an AWD system that could handle it. Now the only way to get V-8 with AWD from Stellantis/Chrysler is the Trackhawk.

My "little" GT has more than enough get up and go to keep me happy for now. For anybody complaining about lack of ability to disable the AWD system you can buy a Tazer from Zautomotive that adds that functionality (and more) for about $300. Some have even installed the Ripp supercharger ($6K) to bump the stock 305 HP up to 480 HP, add a CAI and catback Borla Atak exhaust and you have yourself a pocket rocket on the "cheap" compared to buying from the factory.

Better gas mileage and lower insurance rates. I also felt that since V6 was the way to go that I didn't want a V6 Challenger. That car needs to be a V8. I went with a 2019 Charger GT instead and I was really pleased. Once some of those financial hits are in the rearview I'm probably going to shop for a 392, so a Challenger will be an option again. So coming from experience in both a SXT and a RT the only real difference is the sound. The feel of the pants acceleration is not that noticeable. Also you do get way better gas mileage on the V6, 28 on average vs 20ish. I will say the sound makes a world of difference and that alone is worth any price difference. Now if you can get/afford a Scat that is the absolute way to go.

Had one, a 2020 in Sinamin Stick. There's a lot of fun to be had in this car. It's loads of fun in the snow watching peoples faces as your car is actually better than theirs, and it looks like yours should still be in the garage. I can't count how many times someone came up to me at a gas station during snow storms and asked if I was insane, only to show them the 4 badge on the right side of the spoiler (for MASSIVE downforce) and explain that my car is way safer than their civic. Then, on drag strip day, I'd bring it instead of the corvette. Why? Because it's a bracket racing champion. While slow, there's NOTHING i've brought to the drag strip that put more consistent times down. 15.24 all night. Hell, I won three events in a row in 2022. My competitors put a bounty of 300 bucks on me the 4th week because they were tired of me winning. I'm an average to mediocre drag racer, and it made me a legitimate threat for the track championship. If you're there for the thrill of speed, it aint for you. If you're there to collect trophy's, then its a dream. Since it was my daily, I traded it in for a 2023 GMC canyon that's since already been traded in since that truck is a massive let down, and I miss my old Challenger every damned day. Not for the speed, mind you, but the utility, the fun i had sliding around in the snow in 100% controllable ways, and the 4 trophy's I collected in one summer at the drag strip. Maybe I'm the one guy they had in mind when they built it, but I loved that car.

To think I was going to order this exact spec car because it was the sensible choice to spending the money on a TRX. I came to my senses... I have an SRT8 Challenger and I've loved it for a decade now. I tried to convince myself I could love a v6 one because I need a snow vehicle but the truth is this car would not do it for me I need something with balls even for my daily lol :)

If I'm honest iv been looking at buying one of these in the future. I live in Alberta, Canada and the winters here are rough. I have a v6 muatang right now and it's drivable in the winter but I never feel 100% safe in it. So for what it is I'm very interested in this thing just for the all wheel drive aspect of it alone.

Thanks for the review! For me, silly European jumping from our 4-cylinders, 305 HP V6 is not that bad, and I fully agree with you she is great classy cruiser, not an orthodox muscle car. Great look, nice interior, good ride (the AWD is really good for snowy roads), big trunk - good for what is it, as you concluded. It's about preferences and expectations. I enjoy mine GT AWD completely. Yes, I dream about R/T manual:-) Greetings from the heart of Europe.

Tbh the R/T V8 - the 370hp 5.7 one - is a very good engine for cruising and sounding cool. It’s not very powerful and it doesn’t propel the Challenger (or especially the Charger) with any great speed, but having rented a 5.7 Charger for a week in Florida I can tell you that it’s a stone-cold, fun cruiser that you just don’t get tired with.
