Butcher Confronts Homelander’s Maker | The Boys | Prime Video

Ойын-сауық

Things are about to get downright diabolical. New episodes of the The Boys hit Prime Video June 13.

About The Boys: THE BOYS is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It's the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and their formidable Vought backing.

I think Butcher was disappointed to hear what Voglebaum had to say, like he was probably hoping to hear that Homelander was a devil child who tortured animals for fun, but hearing he was actually a sweet young boy who liked Davey Crockett books and wanted to see the woods was unsatisfying.

Yeah, and in fact he probably started empaphising a bit with Homelander (of course, he would never ever RESPECT him, just feel for his past) for having a terrible father figure, and I think this also explains how easy it was for Butcher to threaten Voglebaum so harshly. he saw the person he hates the most in the doc (his own father).

@@miharbi.narmi1it's clear as day. As someone who grew up with an abusive father who had a similar mindset in how he wanted to raise me, Butcher's subtle shift in his eyes and facial expression and the way he glanced away said it all. In that moment, he realised the truth and that Voglebaum was the truly evil one, and Homelander was just a result of abuse like him. It doesn't excuse anything Homelander has done, or redeem him at all in Butchers eyes, but in that moment, Butcher feels empathy for him and realises they're both a lot more similar than he thought. Honestly with all the changes they made from the comics I was really hoping they weren't going to take Butch down the villain route. Make no mistake, comics Butcher and now TV Butcher are not anti-heroes, they are straight villains of an order of magnitude beyond even Homelander. Homelander at least has the excuse of being literally tortured and manipulated to the point of insanity, Butcher knowingly and willfully choses his betrayals and murderousness. All the talk of vengeance and holding people accountable are just excuses, not for himself but to others in order to manipulate them into seeing him as a deeply flawed and emotionally broke but ultimately good man so they will help him in his mad dog desires for violence. If Butcher had raised Ryan instead of Becca he would have done nearly the same thing as Voglebaum just to have a supe weapon of his own.

I want KARL anddd the HOMELANDER ACTOR to both be wolverine!!! Lol theyd be great, still wouldn't mind charlie hunam or tom hardy and keanu reeves as wolverine but i know those are more unrealistic for a variety of known reasons

As much as Homelander is a D cant help to feel bad for how he was treated growing up that turned him into what he is and the lives it destroyed. The real super villains are the non supes.

Ol'Billy with his self-righteousness makes the show awful. How'd he go from Dredd to this. Now I understand why he had the dog in the comics without it he's insufferable. At least homelander is evil in a comedic way. Billy is just awful. muh ends justifies the means dollar store punisher without the class or code.

This is a great show but idk why it has to try so hard to parody right wing vs left wing political narratives so much. And also try to make the right wing look so stupid
