I was so confused why he was so knowledgeable about the spice girls. Only to reveal the reason being his wife was like super into it. I find it so cute that he not only remembered all of it, but kept up on it.

I knew butcher and maeve was a one time thing but I am glad the writers actually make sense of it. You can see Maeve realized Butcher was the one man that actually understood her and how much she hated herself and supes.

Yeah, but it's a believable response. If you are badly wronged by someone who is completely untouchable, you're stuck with a ton of pain and rage that most people can't manage. Most people react to that pain through nonsensical defense mechanisms. You have the people like Butcher who refuse to believe their targets are untouchable no matter the evidence. Often, like in the Boys, it turns out they aren't actually untouchable. If you don't have the strength to face the other person, you can also end up like these guys. You lie to yourself and desperately convince yourself that there was a good reason for everything to happen. This is how you get people who are hyper religious and abuse victims who blame themselves and desperately protect their abusers. It's like a sunk cost fallacy. You paid the price, so you feel like the only way you can bear it is if you paid it for a good reason. You also get people who turn around and vent their anger and hatred on people who don't deserve it, but who are much easier to hurt than the actual culprit.

The Spice Girls and Matrix rant are iconic. The God one is a particular favorite, but I love all of Butcher. The best is "Daddy's Home" though, lol.
