I bought a 12SK at the same time the video aired. I had the same leaky rear kitchen on my 10FB as a lot of people, yet my 2 yr old 10 FB sold for slightly less than I paid for it. Lots of interest. I added an 8 ft awning. Replaced the over-marketed Blackstone, which I thing wastes gas, adding a two burner unit. One 100W glass panel but intend to add the 100 Watt CIGS panel to the front roof radius. Two 12V batteries in series, mainly because I had them. Just stayed in it for 10 Days in the Ozarks. Put 1200 miles on it behind a 4Runner. Perfect combination. I think the fridge could be upgraded but time will tell. I will put a plug-in on it so I can switch it out for a cooler if my solar can’t keep up with it. Plenty to consider but overall an improvement over the 10FB. I also noticed that the build quality overall is better than past Bushwackers.

We bought the FreeSolo version of this and we love it! It has is the super fan (OEM VERSION)that’s not reversible, but 3 speed and very nice to have. I need to mention that the fridge vents into the cabin, so if you’re prepping for a trip, crack the roof vent or keep the hatch cracked open, or it will cook itself. I leave the vent open just a little while traveling to keep it vented. Also, it has a 24 gallon fresh water storage, so those long boondock weekends are better with that much water.

Your info on the fridge here was very good to hear. It wasn't until I was editing this video that I wondered how about venting took place. I wonder if there's some modifications to address this. Thanks for watching!

Brian, I have the FreeSolo version of this same camper. My wife and I absolutely love it and we spent three weeks in it last summer. It is an amazing little trailer that pulls great behind my Jeep Wrangler 4xe. It works just fine for us but we do go out in our 5th wheel occasionally as well. Anyway, I hope this one catches on because it is great for us. We traded our Bushwacker 10FB for a 12SK and have been very pleased with the 12SK. The slide out kitchen fits our use much better and the front storage holds our Hasika awning, propane firepit, butane stove and fold up camp toilet with plenty of room left. The hot water and outdoor shower are great and we added a swing out shower enclosure as well. We laughed with your comment about the water draining on the outside of the air conditioner. I have just been eyeball leveling our camper and ended up with a wet bed after coming back to camp at about 10:00 one night. We use a level now and that has not happened again. That's great to hear! I've seen people have had the same issues with some of the building quality at Braxton Creek, but overall, people seem really happy with a 12' BW. The AC tilt is the same with my 10', gotta keep that water running outside... lol

Loving the Bushwhacker videos my man. I'm purchasing the 12ROK Radical and one of the things I know I will mod is the lack of a tongue box. I'd like to have a couple of batteries to go in there. I do a lot of back-and-forth fast drives from Virginia to Oklahoma. Now's it's time to stop and smell the roses. Going off road for 2024 and a few Nascar events.

I agree, it's nice to have options. I had some concerns at first, but I think the 12 footer will be a perfect fit for some people.

An afterthought. I have a buddy with the ROK. He pulls it with a Tacoma. I’m getting slightly better fuel economy, but shouldn’t, the Tacoma has a slightly better MPG standard. My theory is the flat rear on the ROK vs the taper on the SK. I guess it matters for the long haul. Just as long as I have an outdoor kitchen…

You are 100% spot on. The flat back causes a serious increase in drag, the effects become more and more profound the faster you travel. With flat-back trailers, you really see the mpg drop between 60 and 70 mph. Going faster is even worse.

I am saving up my pennies over the winter for one of those 200W CIGS panels for next season. I saw a great comparison video on Johnny's Weekend channel and they lived up to their promise. But even with 15% sales they're still $$$$$$.

I absolutely HAVE to get around to making some follow up videos on CIGS.. sometimes it's tough In my perspective, they have over delivered and over performed. I'm a huge fan! They are still very expensive but will be my go to choice for a lot of installations moving forward.

I picked one up on the last Amazon sale earlier in October and got a 100 watt CIGS panel for $195.

Eliminating the rear Galley door to eliminate the rear Galley leaks. That was funny but sadly it was probably true as well

Love the videos. Have you seen the 12ROK model yet? I just purchased one. Same concept as the 10hd with back galley and the features of the 12sk. The reason foremost was the length of the bed. I'm 6'-2" and having a 74" mattress makes the difference. Also the back galley is less radius so better hands on. Weird they put a fireplace in it though. Would love to see you review it if you come across one. Cheers!

I recorded a lot of shots when I did the job, but I've not put it together into a video. Maybe I should get around to go back and putting together a video on the install, it's been one of my favorite modifications.

Brian, I've watched a lot of 10hd videos and no one talks about dealing with mold, where the big rv's do. You've spent so much time in your 10 could you let us know?

I've had zero mold or mildew issues ever with my Bushwhacker. It's something that you hear me talk about in a lot of our travel videos. Ventilation , ventilation, ventilation! Most folks don't realize that they are responsible for 99% of the humidity that enters the camper. Between the moisture that we put out while breathing and the moisture that comes off our bodies through evaporation, we are filling a very small space with warm humid air. If we don't address it, it becomes a breeding ground for mildew and mold. The air conditioner and furnace strip moisture from the air very quickly and can be used. The roof vent has to be open as much as possible, with the fan running whenever you can, circulating the air helps a ton. If despite your best effort, you wake up and there's moisture on the interior of the windows, wipe it off, open the windows and vent, and run the fan on high for a while after you get out of the camper. I could probably do a whole video on tips and tricks, but this is the main stuff. If you pay attention to the humidity, and ventilate it after you've been in there for a while, he won't have mold. Hope this helps, stay dry !

Amazing!! We have taken out five or six times. Needed a few mods/upgrades just like any other tear drop. We converted the front shelf as a bunk for our kid. Favorite part is the abundance of counter space in the rear kitchen. We were able to add in an air fry/oven. I don’t know if it’s worth the extra price but the new 12RAD (radical edition) seems pretty cool.

Not sure you're joking or not about the leaking galley. Have they looked at how skylights, hatches, or NEMA boxes are constructed? Maybe I'll look for some pics on the interwebs to see how they're doing it.

Unfortunately, I was not joking. It's pretty annoying, but the galley door on the thousands of Bushwhackers they've sold has consistently leaked. They've known about the problem and have done nothing. Typically, it does not actually leak through the center of the hurricane hinge. The issue is when the door is open. Whether it's raining, or there's condensation clinging to the door, when it runs back down towards the underside of the hurricane hinge, it wraps around and drips inside the galley. Most teardrop camper designs, including the home builds, have easily solved this issue by providing an extension of the hurricane hinge. It functions like a drip edge, so the water can clear the weatherstripping and drip away outside. Braxton Creek refuses to do this, and most Bushwhacker owners have to dry their gallery door in the morning before opening and not use in the rain. Almost every Bushwhacker I've ever toured has some water damage in the corner of their galley. Their grand solution was to not make a galley door, and replace it with a slide out kitchen . It's nice but still baffling.

For some, dishes and bathing becomes a lot easier. I still heat water on the stove people seem to love the h20 heaters.
