I would have put the entrance on the other end so it has protection from wind, rain, snow. And heat from a fire will radiate somewhat from the hill.

You're absolutely right. In a survival situation I would do it that way! But it was only for one night, without strong wind AND for a KZread video. Nobody would not care if they don't see me 🙈

I like the shelter. Sturdy but easy to make. Question: How far does the fire have to be away from the shelter opening to prevent fire but provide enough heat?

Thank you 🙂 you have to judge for yourself. How big should the fire be, how dry is your roofing material, flying sparks, etc. My fire in this video was purely intended for my psyche. In order for it to warm me, it would have had to be closer.

Hi, the saw is the Silky "bigboy" and the ax is from Hultafors "Ekelund". I think I included it in the video description too.
I actually feel v .sorry for the the Dog because the poor animal is too servile and endures a Ll kinds of hardship. Because he only knows his masters voice .What a soul
