Bushcraft Tarp Camp (1/5) - Establishing Camp
Ойын-сауық
This is the first episode of the Bushcraft Tarp Camping mini-series. Throughout this series I will be completing the setup of a semi-permanent camp that I can return to throughout the future to complete a variety of bushcraft trips and projects. In this first episode I share the process of establishing the camp and getting the camp basics set up.
Thank you to everyone who watches, I hope you all enjoy!

I'm 61 and got away from camping for many years. But a long story short. I'm back and can't wait to start camping. I'm getting all my equipment back. It's so therapeutic to get out of the woods and just relax. I really enjoyed watching your videos
This video is a real gem. I keep coming back and watching it again.

@KuskBushcraft

Thank you! I'm not overly concerned about predators when I camp. In these remote wilderness areas they tend to avoid humans.

The flowing water at 10:01 is a nice demonstration of how youtube compresses the video file
@KuskBushcraft
4 ай бұрын
Yea the compression really ruins some shots.
What do you do of you have a agressive bear in the area or notice multiple bears near you?
@KuskBushcraft
11 ай бұрын
I've never had issues with bears being aggressive. I do carry bear spray just in case, but if I were to encounter a bear displaying aggressive behaviour I would leave the area. If the bear were to false charge or if it came to me having to use bear spray to deter it, I would get out of the area and notify the local Fish & Wildlife authorities. There are a lot of bears in the areas I camp but they tend to avoid humans. The best defense when it comes to bears is having a good education on bear behaviour and bear safety. I'd highly recommend taking a bear safety course to anyone that's planning on spending time outdoors in bear country.
