Best interview with Burt I’ve ever seen! Loved it!
Yes Burt Reynolds was a true MOVIE STAR. We don't have these kind of guys anymore.
Got here by accident, stayed here for the whole 2 hours. I never do that. A very witty, interesting and entertaining man. RIP Burt.
There should beThe Burt Reynolds oscar for making the audience feel good like he did in smokey and cannonball
Burt was a real man's man and was the epitome of strength, class, character and humility. R.I.P.
Burt Reynolds facial expressions and body language with comedy are impeccable. Also in Deliverance and The Longest Yard he flat out gives good, believable dramatic performances. He always had that macho animosity chip on his shoulder, but then again what good leading man doesn’t. Smoky and the Bandit as a kid I just loved it. Also Hooper. Laughed so hard. He gave us a lot. RIP

What a gracious man to recognize someone other than yourself when the interview is supposed to be about you. Wow! This is true character. Stand up guy.

Time will be telling, on that. H-wood is full of fraud and deception and MORE.
Highly recommend Burt Reynolds' book. So many great memories & stories.
There's a scene in Deliverance where Burt's character Lewis has a broken leg, they're being stalked by mountain men, and Jon Voight's character Ed is asking Lewis what are they going to do? Burt as Lewis, through gritted teeth snarls, "Now you get to play the game!" Goosebumps every time. He just nailed it. Great actor and a very thoughtful man. RIP Burt Reynolds.

Just watched the movie for the first time last month. His performance exceeded all expectations. It was so refreshing to see the tough man agonize in pain. He nailed it. The reality of having a broken leg in the woods, the machismo disappears and fear and pain set in and he just so expertly nailed it.

Yeah, that scene still gives me the chills…you could feel his pain and angst in that moment of vulnerability
Thanks for his wonderful interview. Burt was loved and will be extremely missed. ❤️❤️❤️
Had an experience that left me dumbfounded in late 1977. As a Minister and friend that cofounded our small Church in Atlanta, we were looking for another residence in the early stages of being incorporated, so we made an appointment at this one beautiful house, not far from Peachtree Street. So we knocked on the door and when we entered, there were Burt, Dom and Farrah F. all sitting together in the front of what, I guess was the kitchen dining room. I still think about all the things I would have liked to say, but nothing came out...except the apology that this was not a good time to talk about renting the house..
This interview with Burt was excellent, many thanks to SAG-AFTRA .
What a marvel! Such dry rich wit!!!! This interview was kindred to listening to stand up with a laugh every few minutes! Bert was truly one of a kind! Thank you so much SAG -AFTRA for (all of) these in depth interviews that deliver such entertaining and enlightening insight into the lives of our planet's most accomplished stage artists! Thank you!
Burt seems to have answered some questions of recent days!! Burt Reynolds was a very special human being!! He loved anyone!!
The "swimming scene" in "The End" w/Dom DeLuise....absolutely priceless.
What a beaut guy, a man's man to men, pure catnip to women and an outstanding raconteur in the most appealing way. We grew up watching Burt Reynolds films where there was no bigger Star at the time, in today's terms he was probably the Brad Pitt of the day ( world's #1 actor 5 years running ) but still had this rugged humble swagger that was downright cool.. #thanksburtRIP

Johnny Carson, Burt Renoalds and Dom Delese, There won't be Guys around like that for a long time. R.I.P. Guys, 🙏👍
People today have no idea how big of a movie star Burt was.
Very interesting man, and very humble too! I love this guy.
I appreciate Burt Reynolds referenced James Cagney's energy & how we actors need to remember that - RIP BR
The survivor award!! Watch until the end. People are selfish. Fair weather friends. I can relate. Great inspiring talk.
I met him in the early "80's" parking cars. There was 4 of us and he BS'd with us and shamed the people with expensive cars, into giving us much larger tips.

Nice interview with the late star who never took himself seriously but the craft he did. Read his entertaining memoir, "Well Enough About Me" about his encounters with famous people like Johnny Carson, Clint Eastwood, etc.
Beautiful man, wonderful interview, Thank You! 😊
Fantastic showing...God bless you Bert.
This was awesome to discover and I will watch it when I have the time. Thank you to those at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation for sharing this.

I remember when Burt Reynolds had a house in Loganville GA. I guess he sold the house and they had an estate sale. My mom bought Burt Reynolds bar stools and she still has them. He was a big deal, especially in the 70's. They filmed some of the movie Smokey and Bandit in Redan GA. The part where they're having the funeral...across the street from the school is where my grandparent's lived when I was born. I heard that when they filmed the part when the Trans am jumps the dugout and they land in a ball field full of kids was also filmed in Redan behind that same school. My family and I lived in Stone Mountain GA. at the time which was just the next town over from Redan. I still love that movie and now my grandkids love it too.
One of the biggest movie stars ever, of course. But I don't think he got the credit he deserved for his acting ability. RIP

I've read two of his autobiographies. I believe he was happy with the recognition he got. He admitted, without remorse that he took the work that was "the most fun." I think he was happy with that

@@rcalabais I might have to respectfully disagree with you Roy. I've also read both his books, which were fantastic! I do agree he sought out the fun roles, he did them so well & enjoyed them to the fullest. However, I do believe he regrets not taking on more serious roles. He did not receive enough credit for the serious roles he did do & I believe this hurt him deeply, so he shied away from pushing himself as an actor for many years. I do believe regrets this, as he left a lot great work on the table, so to speak. He actually shined the brightest, as an actor, in those dramatic performances, so it's very sad we don't have more of them to enjoy. He is surely missed! But the great entertaining work he did do in films & TV, all his fun interviews we have access to & both his books, will live on forever! ❤

The definition of GENUINE
These are life lessons for all trades and all crafts ( not just thespians ). Funny as hell and as real and true as blood and taxes. Spread this around.
They could/should make a movie about Burt Reynolds dad, (and obviously Burt also)
What a legend.
Burt Reynolds,,, How I waited for Burt Reynolds to finish off that guy with his Bow and Arrow,,don't ask the anger and the tension inside of me , I read his Bio---so inspiring,, You live for ever
Burt always a classic luv ya guy keep smiling
Martin short and burt Reynolds should have made a buddy movie
So good in "Best Friends"! (Norman Jewison, 1982)
It was Norm Macdonald who did impressions of Burt. Check it out. Norm was the best!
Great listen. So nice to hear people who are part of our culture outside their roles. You know?
Correct me if I'm wrong but Will Ferrell played Alex Trebec, it was Norm McDonald that did Burt, both on SNL (celebrity jeopardy).

Burt Reynolds is funny.
He was brilliant but it always saddens me for the fact that not one person has ever mentioned him on Carol Burnette and his performance on her show especially as the Lavender Pimpernel. (if I misspelled that last part I'm sorry)

Burt Reynolds.Dan August,Bandit RIP.
I knew a man who was on a landing craft in World War II, and when the coxswain stopped to short of the beach, his CO put his .45 to the coxswain's head and said "Put it on the sand!". This must have been a common occurrence.
When was this? Burt is a legend.
Do yall remember how BIG Burt Reynolds was?
Very underrated actor!
He looks good here. Such an interesting handsome guy!!
lovely to see, thank you
Gem of a human being.
This was a great interview.
True movie star
Very interesting interview.

Rest in Power
I loved his laugh
psychotherapy with Burt Reynolds
He's hysterical.. should of done stand up
There should be a movie made about Burt Reynolds' amazing life. He gave plenty of accounts so it basically wrote itself already.
If you're interested about Hollywood stories from back in the day, this interview is a great place to spend some time. Burt Reynolds is a marvelous storyteller and super generous in sharing the limelight. In fact, I didn't know much about him until this video. Sure, I'd seen Deliverance. But I was too young at the time to be anything but scared by it. When his spread in Cosmopolitan hit the public, I was old enough to be curious, but not much else. So I knew him mostly by the Smokey and the Bandit stuff, which didn't showcase his actual depth as a person and, apparently, as an actor. I'm off to research some of his movie history. Enjoy the interview!
There's to much to be said for Burt Reynolds..So I'll just say this..He was one of a kind !!!!!
Rip Burt..
A real movie star.
Just read the VF article on Burt. In it, it said Burt was selling his last house at the time, but with the stipulation that he can live in it for 3 more years before moving. That was in 2015. He died literally within months of having to move out.

Legend. Beloved. RIP
Dickey had more than one book..... But he was primarily a poet, and later drinking obviously slowed that down.
Never saw this, glad I did 😊Miss you Burt 💔
I stayed until the end but it was a struggle. Yes, he was funny and intelligent but I kept wondering if he was going to get those stories out or just go to sleep.
Atta Boy Buddy Lee 👍😘🏆🎭🎟😇🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️
Greatest actor ever
Burt loved to keep saying he was born in the south.. he wasn't.. He was born in Michigan.. Finally toward end of his life, he admitted that
@sparky6086
Жыл бұрын
I wonder, if Burt's family were originally from the South but like many, went to Michigan for work in the auto industry, where Burt was born, then they moved back to the South? Burt said, that when they moved to Florida, when he was maybe 5, they stopped overnight in Waycross, GA, and the town name somehow stuck in his mind, so when people asked him, where he was from, he said, "Waycross, GA". I suppose, that he wanted to fit in and probably thought, if the other kids knew, he was a "Yankee", he might be an outcast. His Dad was the police chief in their town in Florida and supposedly was a the model for Sheriff Buford T Justice from "Smokey & the Bandit", who was a stereotypical southern sheriff, so it makes me think, that maybe Burt's dad was originally from the South & was in Michigan, when Burt was born? ...A curiosity.
Fantastic man.
I am of course referring to that monumental sequence in DELIVERANCE
What an incredible guy😊
SAG, did you ever do an interview with Dom Deluise?

They did but I don't know if it's posted (I was there). Hello, SAG?
I remember seeing Burt in " Gunsmoke" , as " Quint" ( cute ! 😊), Not a huge fan, but he's done well , certainly. 😊🇬🇧💕🎹😊
I wish I could have met him.
Fall in Love with Burt all over Again. A Sincere Lovely Man. MUCH more than just a Handsome Actor.
He was a first class raconteur.
Hes got a great Profile ❤
Why did he diss the great Norm McDonalds impersonation Of him? Will Farrell was indeed Alex Trebeck on the Jeopardy spoofs. He never played Burt. Norm nailed Burt and its still funny today.
Atta boy, Buddie. Atta Boy.
FSU! Love Burt, but he’s confused Will Ferrel with Norm MacDonald, who did the most amazing Burt impersonation.
If you can name two countries that border Costa Rica, I’ll drink the damn coffee.
