The world has lost another musical genius. We’ll miss you but your songs will live forever. May you Rest In Peace, Burt!
THATS THE COMPOSER SINGING STRAIGHT FROM HIS HEART ❤
So sad today after losing this wonderful man but in time we'll smile as we celebrate his music, his voice, his talent. Thanks so much for posting this for the world to enjoy. RIP Mastro, play on in Heaven x
Burt puts so much emotions in his songs. When you hear this great song..."Alfie" then you know what a great and unique songwritingteam Burt and Hal were. Therer will never be another great songwriting team like Burt Bacharach and Hal David!!
to all those that CRITCIZE his voice...do better, I see genuine love in the words and heart in the everything he sings, very few can bring that to the table
I feel touched by this man's honest emotion through his old, broken voice, expressed with the gentle acceptancing heart that sometimes seems to shine through in in some people, in old age. Heart breathing, beautiful.
Its a shame that the newer generations do not understand how great this duo is!
Rest in Peace -- without true love, we just exist.
Thank you so much for this gift of a video, I cry everytime I see it, but it is a good cry, I love everything Burt wrote and Carol and Hal David, nobody is writing music like this anymore....What a sincere outreach from this great song writer...I feel every word deeply.....
I miss you, dad. I wish we could have shared the beauty of this profound composition while you were here but I at least discovered it on my own, which might even be more special. I know you loved and understood this beautiful song. I do, too._Andrew
Considering the content of the song, I think it's quite interesting and pertinent that the name "Alfie" is an anagram for "A Life."
Love you, Burt Bacharach. RIP.
I love how he plays the melody on the piano at 4:27-4:30. There's something about it that pierces the heart so deeply. It just flows.
Lyrics very sincer down to earth never be a song like it .
Amen Estella. I have
Am I the only one to appreciate the ASMR power of Burt's broken voice as he delivers his speech? And such an hypnotizing performance! I can listen to this anytime :-))
Burt: Your geniune, you are Alfie, you are perfect. I love you hear you speak about all the years past , you have made such an impact in my life, my music, my love... You will alway Be the King of Music....Thank you Burt Freeman Bacharach, God Bless You Alway!!!!!
I remember when he was at his prime, his voice was always unique, it is sad to see him now but hey I´m not young anymore, we all age together, i can not imagine growing up without his songs, they are all wonderful, from The Carpenters to Dionne Warwick, and so many other artists that have recorded his music, thank you!!!!
I love listening to Burt sing my voice is nothing to write home about but I feel I can the play the piano and sing too as a senior citizen
Such a sweet emotional...human....voice. He's lent such an emotional score to stunningly brilliant lyrics.
