Bumblefoot jams to Joe Satriani's "Gnaahh"

Музыка

"Bumblefoot can play so inside, then so outside, all within eight bars, it makes my head spin. But, I like it! He is a complete original who sings, writes and plays guitar like no other. His take on “Gnaahh” is insane. Watch how he nails my Whammy Pedal parts without a Whammy pedal!!!" - Joe Satriani
The backing track is from Joe's new release "Stripped x Three", three albums of songs with the lead and melodies removed. Available NOW for pre-order at satriani.com/discography/Strip...
Full backing tracks from the complete "Shapeshifting," "Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards" and "Is There Love in Space?" albums are included, along with a special digital compilation booklet with original liner notes and credits and it is all packaged within a replica Joe Satriani Ibanez signature guitar USB stick and custom case.
"At the heart of it is my love for composing unique and moving music for the electric guitar. I love the journey as much as the end result. With this compilation of backing tracks you get to peak behind the curtain a bit and experience that journey as I built the songs in the studio. And, of course, you can play along!" - Joe Satriani

Wow. That part at 1:12 is the first time that sweep picking has sounded fresh to me in decades: there is some really creative playing here. Nothing sounds like guitar tricks thrown in to impress - it all sounds necessary and musical.

He's gone on record mocking "names" for "techniques" like "hybrid picking" saying he thought it was just called "playing". Point is there are lots of things happening at once technique wise, it's part of his signature sound which makes it so smooth. If you want to hear more lines using similar technique i would recommend checking out Allan Holdsworth basically plays em non stop.
