    When I started lifting I knew that I NEEDED to eat more than previously. The problem- I did not feel hungry even though I just had a heavy lifting session. I soon realized that I needed to TEACH MYSELF to be hungry. I increased the amount of oatmeal I had at a time from 1 cup to 2 cups, I mixed cheese in with my eggs ect. People who struggle putting on weight need to realize that they need to stop eating based off of hunger but instead whether or not they NEED to eat.

    One thing I will say is, take it slow when eating like this guy. If you immediately start choking down all that food your guts will not be happy (at least mine weren't). Irritable GI, bloating, and pain were some nasty side effects that i experienced. A lot of the big boys tell you to "Stop being a pansy!" and wolf down that food so you can get SicK GaiNS! Take your time, this isn't a race.

  • @hussainthebane

    @hussainthebane

    This diet isn't really worthwhile. You'd rather gain weight slower than getting over 5k a day and being bloated to fk. Imagine a normal maintenance diet with 300-700 calories on top. That wouldn't be hard and you can actually bulk without gaining a shit ton of fat. That is how people bulk in their first year of lifting to a new weight and never really drop below it.

    Aint that the truth, I just went through a bad breakup, got shitcanned from my job, and the stress of all that had nearly lost my appetite entirely and I'm like, how can I lift if I can't even eat. When I finally said fuck it and got back in the gym, the appetite came back and that issue took care of itself. Best advice anyone can get/give is "just shut the fuck up and lift".

    The part about stress and lack of sleep is 100% spot on. When I'm stressed, everything goes to shit; weight, diet, strength, energy. Yet when in high spirits, I can damn near eat anything I want and I stay lean and strong and energetic. Crazy how much stress affects hormones.

    Alan, I've been out of the gym for well over 9 months now for varying reasons/excuses: knee pain from squating with poor form, stress with work, lack of motivation and most importantlyasa result of the former reasons: a diet that's gone to shit (eating only a little if at all, and only garbage). This video, I believe, has given me the motivation I needed to hop back into the grind. To eat like a Lord and lift like a Beast. Thank you, brother, for continuing to guide me on my journey.

I think switching to more of a meal prepped approach to cope with my work schedule might get me back on track. Also, on God the diet and meal idea videos are the best part of this channel.

I can still see myself, years ago, mixing my protein shake at gym water fountain and thinking "This will make me gain muscle", all while eating 2100 cals a day and wondering why I wasn't gaining any size or strength. Later I would start eating a much bigger diet, and went from 145 to 195 and added so much more to my lifts.

    I feel you on the health problems part, I feel like stress can be as big of a factor for health as food. And also considering we are omnivores that thrived because of our diversity, it's not strange to think there are many viable diets which differ for everyone. Now what's interesting to me see, I eat alot of the foods you show here as main foods for my calories, but I do it vegan (not trying to convince anyone), so my meals would look like yours but instead of the meat more of the stuff that isn't meat, and then substitute with beans here and there. Which leads me to be more and more sure it's about the calories, and then how complete your diet is so your body can put it to use (io if you're missing certain nutrients you can't build muscle no matter how much calories you eat) When I went vegan I wasn't doing sport because of lasting injuries but I did become more muscular, which actually motivated me to find a sport again. I know now that the gains were likely due to the fact that having no meat forced me to take my diet more seriously, seeking out all the nutrients (which I think is a BIG step like you said) , AND it forced me to deliberately eat more, as I gave up cheese and meat and eggs which always really filled me up. Tl;dr from a vegan perspective this man still makes very valid points which have been confirmed i.m.e.

As many of us know you have recently become a SS coach which I think is a great thing, It would be interesting to see if your approach has changed on this kind of dieting or if there was any new information you had to share since this time and since joining SS legitimately. Regardless, I look forward to whatever is next. Kind regards.

    Awesome video! I will say that from my experience this is a diet for a tall 100 kg bulker. As a 70kg 1.75 average-skinny-can't-gain-boy, 3k calories definitely worked and still felt like plenty of food. My daily menu is as follows: - 2 toasts with peanut butter - greek yogurt with like 100g granola and some nuts - lunch with 200g of some carb and a similar amount of meat - oats with nuts and fruit - again some carbs and meat for dinner - trail mix Worked perfectly but can get a bit hard if you truly can't eat so much.

  • @TheHanspeter8

    @TheHanspeter8

    7 жыл бұрын

    Because you want to eat a lot of protein and fat while limiting your caloric intake. Carbs are not an essential nutrient for humans. They are not needed to build cells or produce Hormons unlike fat and protein. They are in that sense "empty" calories i.e. you just need to consume them to fill up your energy needs. When you are cutting you want to still get all your essential nutrients while pushing your daily caloric intake below your daily caloric expenditure, because carbs have no nutritional value besides calories it makes sense to focus on reducing your intake of them if you want to cut.
