The driver was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, but that didn’t look like an accident, it looked like assault with a deadly weapon.

Yet if this truck driver did this to a cop, he'd be shot for attempted murder.

That’s not true, guns may be drawn but they won’t shoot him unless he also has a fire arm. They will simply draw their guns and tell him to exit the vehicle.

@@jtomtl From my observation 99+% of the Tesla drives are actually quite polite even though they could leave any gas powered vehicle in the dust if they fully accelerated. Teslas have cameras all around them monitoring the drivers behavior and other’s behavior.

Truth is when most people have their license taken away, they still drive to work and other "important" places. It's only the ones that get caught that we get statistics on "driving without a valid license". The reason for this is while the government takes their license away they leave the persons car in the driveway with the person still having the keys to the vehicle. To really have a loss of license be effective, they should take away a persons access to a vehicle.

Cause it was a minor accident and nobody got hurt. However I think they’re really over exaggerating this because they said that the pickup driver pushed them but it only shows like a 3 second clip of the driver pushing them and the Tesla driver said he hit the brakes when he could have accelerated to get away

Why, if you have that much information on the vehicle, including plate, are we asking "neighbors" to get involved? Wouldn't that be an easy solve for actual law enforcement? Do we now need vigilante service to fill the gaps that the police deem of low importance to enforce. Do we need to sue them to do the job we pay them for instead of writing tickets , to raise revenue for their towns? I have law enforcement officers in my family, I just hate that the narrative has been changed to make everyone responsible when it's not our job. Don't ask me to conserve our environment by giving up straws while you dump millions of gallons of oil into our waterways. I'm more than happy to be proactive and do my part, I encourage it, I just don't like being held personally responsible while the heavy abusers act innocent and shift blame.

You should see the video in California. The guy was drunk did a hit and run on a Tesla driver. Tesla driver calls the cops and the cops say there’s nothing we can do. Stop following him. Drunk, hit and run, and fake plates. Cops did nothing. It was on one of those Tesla hit and run YT channels like 10 days ago. Crazy man. How can the cops do nothing??

In the distant past obnoxious drivers only chose Chevrolet and GMC pickups. Nowadays the Dodge and Ram trucks are also favorites of the road rage crowd.

The victim should go to the district attorney and swear out a felony assault warrant. Then to the police chief to file a complaint against the officer.

It’s not irrational. electric cars are crappy. Nothing like lithium batteries burning on the side of the freeway with no way to extinguish. Tesla’s are a firefighter’s worst nightmare. And guess what? When the Tesla breaks down, a gas or diesel flatbed truck will end up towing it, not an EV. If I need any more proof that EV’s are a terrible idea for a replacement for the gas powered car, then idk.

Anyone who hates on another group and gets joy out of causing them negative consequences really needs to take a good hard look in the mirror and figure out what happened to them that they get joy out of someone else's pain. As an example, in one of the elections this century, I had a student in my high school math class who was so traumatized that the person his family told him was awful for the country and would ruin it if elected... he had a meltdown and had serious issues following that election. My candidate was elected, but I was worried and concerned for my student. I got no joy out his trauma that the election didn't go his way. So when anyone jokes about enjoying someone else's tears over the outcome of an election, I feel as if there's a deep disconnect. People keep being told to "get angry" and they are told over and over again that individuals in one group or another are "the enemy" and the anger builds until suddenly a normal loving human being who goes to church and thinks of themself as even tempered and the least likely to harm others is snapping and trying to kill a total stranger.

A ticket that’s what the police did, I think if it was judge’s family or even a cop’s family in the Tesla the driver of the truck would have been charged aggravated assault or even attempted murder, two tier justice in our faces!

I wonder why the pickup driver wasn't arrested. This sounds much more serious than a typical "traffic citation" event. Pushing the other vehicle around, and then leaving the scene, sounds seriously illegal--like a DUI situation, where the driver is arrested and processed by law enforcement.

From my observation, people that drive Dodge Rams, are a bit arrogant. Also, the light-bar on top, might indicate that he/she (got to be fair), is a “first responder”, whether employed or volunteer and should be charged with assault with a deadly weapon, fired from their job, jailed and given a fine, along with paying for the repair costs to the Tesla!!!!!!!! However, only a citation, might indicate, they “know” people.

Statistic show that drivers of Dodge ram pick ups get busted drinking and driving at a much higher rate than other drivers.

Tesla's brake lights don't come on when you're using the regen braking. So the truck driver may have thought that the Tesla was messing with them or something. Maybe got surprised by the Tesla slowing down without warning from the brake lights.

I think there is more to this story than what we are being told!

I assume the guy knew he has friends that are cops and will get him off woth a slap on the wrist. Citizens should be outraged, anyone doing stuff like this should be arrested and charged for every law they broke. That was a hit and run, that was an assault with a deadly weapon, it was all caught on camera. This driver it was just a small push, what if he pushes the next driver to their death. This is how cities get so dangerous, it starts with thebjustice system not holding anyone accountable until the city is just a poverty crime stricken hell hole.

At least they charged him with something. In california they would have let him go like what happened with a Tesla and another pickup truck who ran off

Ok 2 things: 1. I've noticed how the break lights react on my MYP where decelerating enough (just getting off the gas petal a bit) can show the break light which can be miss-represented as a break check, even though the breaks were not used. Used to annoying me as another driver till I realized what the tesla was really doing. the tesla was in the fast lane and would have been good to move over is possible. 2. That was vehicular assault, not running from an accident. it was obvious from the tesla footage the ram continued to push after the initial contact. That is a failure on the officers. Note: I still own the car in my profile, along with the MYP so I understand both sides here.

It's a hasty generalization but my experience is that, among jerks driving pickups, most drive Rams/Dodges. It's just what I've seen for myself around my big western city.

As we only have one side of the story reported here, no one can say why the truck driver did it. Shouldn't have done that, but I doubt Mr tesla is 100 % innocent either. Notice they didn't show any video prior to the incident. And the police only giving the truck driver a citation seems to back that up.

We know this had to be a middle-aged or older person. Since all the younger people know every Tesla has a camera.

The Ram driver should have been cited and jailed for attempted murder! What the hell is wrong with Law Enforcement and the DA's office? Perhaps it is time for the people to demand that Education and Common Sense Levels for Law Enforcement and District Attorneys be raised! I'm betting the Ram driver is connected and I think somebody should uncover the connection and make it known so all bad actors are removed from their positions and cited accordingly! If the Standards and Laws aren't enforced equally for ALL, then we are just another Third World Country whose politicians, judicial system, and law enforcement don't have any Honor, Honesty, Integrity, Ethics, Scruples, Respect, etc.!
