With me, Mathias is LAST to play. I like to leave KZread with the good feeling that I've learned something. Mathias' videos bring a confident feeling that I can walk out to my shop and build something useful from wood scraps, like a freakin' wooden bandsaw! ...or something just for fun, like one of his marble machines

I call bullshit on this. If you look closely you'll see that *this* video is slowed down for us to be able to actually see what's going on. The ones you called just slowed down were actually shot with an ultra slow motion camera for educational purposes.

Today I'm working on my first ever woodworking project! I'm rebuilding part of my sister's bed that I broke the other day. I only have a few basic power tools like a circular saw that I've just got, and a drill and screwdriver that I stole from my father. I would like to thank Matthias for being one of my biggest inspirations. I'll keep improving my skills and I might be able to build this one myself some day. Matthias probably won't even read this, but that's fine.

Seriously you are like the Albert Einstein of woodworking? I feel like I just got done watching Einstein invent and create his theory of Relativity....Well in this case Relativity would be your bandsaw creation!! To be able to get to your level of innovation and problem solving skills shown in this video of your bandsaw build. Would take someone like me an intermediate woodworker I feel like a lifetime to achieve!! You displayed some amazing skills in this build of your bandsaw creation from scratch!! I really do wish that one day in my woodworking career I can create as something as amazing and skillful as I just watched in this video! Thanks for taking the time to record, edit, and share this on KZread! I learned a whole lot from watching a master like yourself put this bandsaw together, and so I just wanted to say Thank you! Lastly I would like to let you know that your videos like this are much appreciated!!

I just downloaded the plans for Mattias' 20 inch bandsaw. Take my word for it: they are worth every penny. If not for his ideas I would never be able to afford a "real" bandsaw. I would be stuck with the old "three wheeler" Craftsman I have had for years. I'll be modifying as I go but the plans work!

I am well on my way building the 20 inch bandsaw. Frame is built and wheels are getting lathed now. It my first time doing that and its actually going well. If you are not an engineer, which I think you are, you should just get an honorary degree. Thank you for the plans, well thought out videos, and skills teaching. I am looking forward to your other projects like panto router, marble mazes, box jointer. This thing is awesome. Now I have the wheels squared away completely, motor mounted, and blade is running with the motor just fine. I am ready to move to the blade guides.
