Bruh, cutting out the foam and making a neatly organized box like that is awesome. I'm lucky if I get a text from my brother

@@projectkarr hi, I know this video is a little old, but I could really use that empty craftsman tool box that came with the set if you still have it, someone stole my truck with all my tools in it. Any way you could help me out please?
that gal is ON TASK! Better focus than most adults! Gotta love it.🎉
I have been meaning to call you...your parents adopted me when you were just 4...I then went to live abroad so you have never met me. However, I am still your brother...so...if I could get a tool cart it would make me happy...thanks brother.
I just love that your little girl is helping you out. My dad who grew up and lived on a farm showed me how to use tools when I was about 9 years old. I knew how to change an electrical outlet/switch/light. I knew the basic techniques in using a saw. When I got my first car, he taught me how to change a tire and my oil. I use those skills today. Your daughter will remember helping daddy and she will be able to do minor repairs and fixes in her later years. Great job Dad! I have a decent set of tools and use the Tool cart shown in this video. I got into ham radio and now have specialty tools and testers/analyzers. I am now looking for organization tips instead of putting stuff in the drawers. Thank you for a great video.
This is a great setup for 99% of homeowners. I don't think the tool chest is even necessary, but it is cool and does make organizing easier. Harbor Freight really is the best place to get tools for 99% of people. Let's say my $7 set of Pittsburgh screwdrivers goes bad after... 10 years of occasional use... just buy another set. Why buy a $50-$100 set that may or may not last longer? Good choices!
Hey guy, what an awesome brother you are. And very thoughtful. I’m a journeyman diesel mechanic of 34 years so I’ve got tools coming out of my ears lol. But when I first started out it was with a set of craftsman tools. It was a bit of a larger set for around $450. I used a charge card at sears and I did not have a roll cart to start, I had a small top chest that I hauled around for the longest time. My first real tool box came from snap on, was very well used and beat up but I scored it for around $300 and made my weekly payments on it until it was paid off and then grew from there. Now I’ve got a huge snap on tool box top and bottom and a snap on service cart and full length locker. Over the years I’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars on tools. And here’s the best advice I can offer. Snap on, Matco, Mac Tools, and Cornwell tools all do have their place. But I’ve NEVER broken a craftsman wrench, ever. I have broken wrenches from most of the others mentioned though. Also bent quite a few, especially Mac wrenches. And tool boxes ? If I had it all to do over - right now - I’d buy the Icon tool box from Harbor Freight. Everytime I go into HF I check out that Icon tool box, the professional one, the biggest one they have displayed, with the hutch and 2 full length lockers etc, and I am impressed with it. It’s built better than the snap on box I own and just like my snap on box it’s double walled and welded. At HALF the price as it stands right now. But like I said, the others DO have their place. I work with those tools every day, and they stand up to the daily grind, the daily use and abuse. So that’s where I’d spend the majority of my money. The kids that get hired on to our shop nowadays all see the kind of tools we have and a lot of them think they have to have that “right now” until they see the prices we pay, and they get discouraged, some to the point of quitting before they even give themselves a chance. It IS expensive. But I tell them “you do not have to start out that way”, build your box 1 tool at a time. Start out with the cheap stuff from harbor freight. It’ll get you by and some it is surprisingly sturdy. I’ve known guys that bought their snap on wrench sets 1 wrench at a time. You don’t have to ski. That cat all at once. But by the time you become the “old timer” in the shop your tool set will match your experience. (And by then you’ll be sick af of the job, the expense etc) lol. Good luck to ya and your bro.
This was the first box I ever got for my first big boy maintenance job… So yeah this hit me in the nostalgia. Now I’m graduating to a 72” roll cab
So jealous of the full craftsman cabinet and workbench in the background.
HF has a great paper towel holder for the side of the tool cabinet. Its magnetic, and makes its handy to access.

@Project Karr a lot of those accessories are magnetic (like the paper towel holder) they don't just work with that tool cart, I have one of those paper towel holders stuck up in my van.
Very nice video. Your video quality is outstanding. Love that you had your daughter helping you. This gift is super thoughtful for your brother. You did a great job putting together a very nice starter set.
I hope he appreciates all the work as well as the tools. Nice job, great gift
That is the sweetest thing a brother could do for another! Tool box and tools are beautiful 🥹
Wow! The creativity, time, effort, care, what a freaking amazing gift!
What an awesome gift, great brother he has, and great choices
The foam thing is so time consuming. Looks incredibly neat but not for everyone. Really impressed with your connection and kindness to your brother. Keep family close
An excellent first tool box and gift. And an excellent little workshop helper.
Wow. A great gift for sure. I think I will do this for my brothers and sisters when the time comes
Dude you are an awesome bro I hope he appreciates the gift. Incredibly wonderful gift and the effort to make the inserts and stuff is seriously awesome.
For anyone looking to get one of these mechanics toolsets, the Gearwrench set is usually on sale at Home Depot. It’s a 232pc set that in my opinion, is much more comprehensive than the craftsman set and the tools feel like they are of a much higher quality. It basically provides you with most everything you’d need for 1/4 and 3/8, both SAE and metric, and also includes a decent set of deep sockets as well. The only thing it doesn’t have that I think every starter mechanic should need are swivels. It’s $200 on sale, regular $315. It’s quite a nice set to start with, and I would bet anyone who has it will retain almost every tool from it as they graduate to a bigger box setup. Having said that, craftsman is also a good brand and the US General tool cart he’s got here is also a very good choice.
That was cutest thing ever putting that Timelapse with your daughter.adorable
Awesome bro, very nice of you to do that for him. Box came out beautiful!
You are a good brother! I hope he loved it as much as I loved this video! ❤
Great gift for him, as your attention to detail as top notch. Good stuff!
Dayum.... Very cool brotherly gift. Thanks for sharing !
That's an awesome setup for someone starting out. I'm sure they'll get a lot of use out of it. Being the tool guy out of my family and friends. I usually do something similar. I head in a slightly different direction, though. I like to lean a little more towards carpenter type tools. You know, like a hammer, adjustable wrench, vice grips, utility knife, some putty knives, a caulk gun, and saw, etc. That Pittsburgh pliers set is a good one that I always include. I don't lean so heavily on the socket sets, I usually only include a 3/8 set, like those Craftsman clamshell sets, and I go with the classic craftsman 6 piece acetate handle screwdriver set, even though it doesn't have as many different drivers. Even so, you put together an excellent set. They have a really good start. That was really nice of you to put in the extra time with the foam. With Christmas not far off, I'm wondering if you're planning any more additions. Cordless drill, perhaps?
You’re the brother every good man deserves 👍 good stuff man god bless
That put me in the holiday giving spirit, just what I needed. I think everyone should start off with inexpensive tools. I need to pick up that tool box and Craftsman set and I amy grab a set of those Quinn screwdrivers. Thanks boss, great video
I think you did the right selection for the tools. And especially the toolbox. Thats perfect for the home opener. Wow, didn’t record the reveal?? Really???

Must have the patience of a saint to cut out all those foam inserts...excellent job, your brother is very lucky 😊
Wow, that's a lot of labor!! It came out great!
I bought the exact same cart for my lil bro, he moved to Vegas so I had to set him up. Awesome job
Your brother is going to love it!
I’ve wanted that box since they came out with that color, I don’t even need another box lol. But you did a great job getting home started. I started with all harbor freight tools and they made me tons of money over the years, I’ve rotated out a lot of them now but still have a bunch of my harbor freight tools and continue to shop with them. I really want to do something like this for my best friend one day, hopefully I’ll be able too in the next couple years.
My good ness how freaking adorable… my boys all love helping and i cant wait till my daughter is around 2 - 3 years old to help too Good job and happy thanksgiving brother !!!
That’s a great basic setup. I have the same tool box that lives in my race trailer with all the basics.

I just found out I'm your long lost brother too. Can I get that setup as well?🤣 Just kidding, great video.
When hf comes out with the new series 3 box in like a 44 or 56 in this color I will buy it over a tool truck brand I have a matco cart and love it but I will need a bigger box later in my career
Seen that color and its amazing sadly they only had red and black when i went for mine but black is ok for me
I have ratchet wrenches but mine are kobalt pro 90 SAE and metric 20pc combination wrench sets.
Nice Video,
The on thing about foam is that if you buy another tool you have to cut another hole
Must be my brother from a different mother. Can we say OCD Together.. very nicely done.
I want the craftsman 216 peices. I shoulda bought it last year bc now i need a tool set
what tool did you use to cut the foam?
Great vid brother but you gotta admit your little helper stole the show...just saying. God bless.
The only thing missing is hammer Is pry bar viceGrips
You won’t believe this; but I’m your long lost brother…. Want to organize my tools??

@@projectkarr Thanks. I'm just doing a 4 drawer cart, my 1st ever, no more having tools in 4 different boxes completely unorganized. Doesn't hold as much as I'd like, but it was the largest box HF would ship. Really wanted the 5 drawer. But there's a lot of tools I never use, so back in the boxes with those. (Like SAE sockets, almost never need those, and multiples of duplicate screwdrivers etc).

Yes I bought 8 2’x4’ sheets which made it way cheaper and free shipping. It cuts very easy but your knife needs to be very sharp. If the knife is dull it will tear instead of a clean cut

Hey, your kid is a real fast worker!
My brothers barely even know how to use tools. I don't think I would even let them into my roller
Foams cool till it gets oil on it
Who won the head with everything except the pliers still work for probably a month, and in the nuts on all the joints will just go to shit but overall great selection
HUMMMM??????????? NO HAMMER????????????
i bought a craftsman wrench 13 and the tooth slipped on a first try i scratched my arm never trusted craftsman tools .have broken long flex head ratchet bought in lowes cant exchanged because no replacement in stock .never ever go for tools to lowes period
why dont u go to work for your brother too.. doing too much for him.. he needs to do this himself
Turn that music off. People would rather just watch you put the tools together.
I completely disagree with saying cheap screwdrivers are a good idea, you’ll learn your lesson with bad screwdrivers alright
