We have always let the boys help, even when it wasn’t much help at all……… now we reap the benefits of that strategy!!!

This is my first time commenting in the chat although I watch every single video you upload. I could not watch this video and not comment on the awesome work you all did. I also must say you and your wife must give each other a top on the shoulders for bringing up such hard working, willing and industrious children. Absolutly gorgeous Smokehouse but...One thing that I absolutly hate about 8 out of 10 of these builds is..They never show what they do for a fire box and in my opinion thats as important as the smokehouse itself!

I hope your boys and family appreciate how much knowledge you are passing on to them. Even though the work seems mundane and not exactly what they want to do, they will be able to continue to pass the knowledge on to their families. They will be able to feed and house fellow man. I was in the Army when 9/11 happened and my first son was born. Unfortunately, I married the wrong woman who could not handle the time away, we divorced shortly after my second son was born. I spent their entire childhood, teenage years, and early part of adulthood, either in a war zone or preparing to deploy. Again, I truly hope you and your family appreciate what all you have together and let each other know every day. Family always helps each other, regardless of the differences.

What a great build, that is the most functional and pretty smoke house I have seen. I have seen many made of stone, but that has to be the best wood smoker I've seen for a household. Very nice job to you and your family.

Building a shelf over the smoke exhaust (Intake to smoke house I guess you could say) may help keep hot spots away. I think I would add some gable vents, I don't think your Ridge Vent cut was large enough.

Awesome smokehouse, i wish i had the skill to build something even half as nice. I know you use coolers to salt your meat but have you ever considered building a salt box for curing the meat in? Its super simple and you can always reuse the salt.
