Amazing, James. Your PE work is remarkable. I replayed the scenes showing the elevators a couple of times - detail is so impressive! This is going to be a great build, no doubt about it! Please keep up the great work with your posts.

Thanks Charles! As I said in the video, the PE is one of the strong suits of the kit. Gallery models have done a tremendous job

Those elevators are bad ass with all that PE underneath cant wait to see it done. In the process of building the missoni 1/350 with the lion roar PE upgrade and wood deck. Lots of firsts for me on this one.

That's a lot of model kit!! Just take your time with it all, that's the best advice I can offer after building my New Jersey. Enjoy!

You should do the growler sub in ny they have the sub next to it as a exhibit and a concorde

JJ, I must say that I am very, very impressed by the PE under the elevators. The background music is very soothing, it makes you think it's a piece of cake (which it isn't, I am sure!). I noticed some gaps that need to be closed before you move on. Following your progress on all your builds. Cheers!

Too kind Jeremy but thank you nonetheless. The PE did all the hard work, the metal is a tad thicker than the Eduard set I used on the POW and that made all the difference. Listening to the Ready Player One audiobook was great, totally lost track of time and two hours later, was nearly finished! The gaps will be all sealed up, a good eye for detail there! The primer coat has shown up a few other little ones here and there as well - but that's one of the jobs for the primer coat right!

@@JJModelMaking I know what you mean about the photoetch. The Tetra set looks good but is such a pain to make Lol. The catwals are the worst!! Still does make the model pop out though.

@@JJModelMaking that would be so cool. i do really like both of them. Do you know of any cheaper 1/350 aircraft carriers or LHDs. I was looking at the Heller Charles De Gaulles in 1/400 but i would prefer 1/350

The Illustrious is good value for money. Save an ebay search as you can pick one up for £35-40 tops. LHDs are really expensive though, that's why I went second hand for mine

wonderful, i wonder did you got a video that demonstrate you working with all of those PE beam & grid ?, i always want to buy a full update once, but alway afraid to do that

What are the differences between the Trumpeter models and the Gallery models of the same scale? I am seeing affordable Trumpeter models but cannot get any detailed images of the model itself.

Very nice! Do you know if Gallery Models has any affiliations w/ Trumperter or are they their own entity? I'm a bit surprised you dont 'case' your ships... how do you deal with dust issues?

They are two separate entities as far as I'm aware, but don't quote me on that. As for dust, ideal with it the old fashioned way, with a big soft brush.

@@JJModelMaking generaly me to on dusting... the 'swiffer' duster is an awesome invention along with tiny attachment tips for my vacuums... Your fleet does look quite good! Or 'Jolly' good!🤗

JJ could say again what the long "tubes" running down both sides of the hull were? I thought I heard steam lines for catapults.

@@JJModelMaking Thank You. I thought they were "lines" of some kind and thought You said so in your narrative. After serving on 3 USN carriers I get excited about models of carriers. I have been to the Intrepid Museum but only from dockside. Looking forward to future videos on this build.

Hmm, Queen Elizabeth? A great model I hear. There were some great names in the Royal Navy back then; Indefatigable, Agamenom and Monarch to name but a few

I prefer the Trumpeter version. The Academy kit has a bit more of a 'toy like' appearance to the moldings...
