Hi Everyone, I tried keeping the video as short as possible but ran into some problems and decided to share them. I even wanted to show more of the drawing stage in Sketch-up but that would add a lot of time, maybe in the future ill make a video of how I draw them in Sketch-up from scratch if u want. Please let me know if I should keep future videos shorter. Thank you

Awesome video! I like how you add the happy accidents. Thanks for the hinge lesson. Those turn out really nice. Now I see why you said most of the hinges are different and have to be custom made. I liked the lesson on the compression latches! Your belt sander jig was awesome! I'm gonna have to use that on mine. Always look forward to your next video.

Thank you Greg, I wanted to show how I draw them and do the unfolding in SketchUp but there was no time in the video.. else it would have been 25min long. Maybe in the future I'll do a quick 6min video on how to design the hinge from scratch and show the unfolding of them into a 2d model. maybe that's something people would like to watch. Sharing out of my experience, I had similar hinges on mine, however frequent usage on corrugations loosened the hinges in no time and all the doors started rattling, the rubber strip got squeaky. I got cylindrical spacers fabricated to fill in the gap between the hinge corners. The bolt runs through it, this help to retain the torque for an extended period and does not rattle as early as it used to be.

Makes sense, I'll keep a close eye on them for wear. The 3mm stainless with the tempered edge where the bolt hole was laser cut is hard as hell tho. But at least I can implement your solution incase it goes south.. Thank you so much!!

Flippin awesome South African content, love your build thus far. Just a friendly tip, as far as I know a gas cylinder should not be kept in a sealed casing, it must be in a cage or special brackets attached to your camper outside. Thanks once again, love it✌

Hi. Thank you. Yes I've was told the exact same by someone else. If I Want to keep them In the nose Cone then I need to vent it.. I wanted to keep it dust free as far as I can so think I'll mount them on the rear swing bar that houses the spare wheel. Thx for watching!!

Nice build. I bought myself an off cut machine when I made my own window frames for my house project. You can set any angle on it and with the many window frame profiles, getting an exact 45 degree is essential aswell, so it worked a treat.

That's cool. I also have a cut off machine but its a al cheapo and makes such shitty 45 degree cuts.. lol That's why I cut them and then grind them to size.. would love some decent machinery at some stage.. Thanks

Hi Marius, great videos, we are going to build my dad a trailer as well. A question on the corners of the rubbers. How do you seal the door in the corners, I see you cut straight lines and have no rubber in the corners. Thanks for the nice channel.

Hi there, Sorry. I should have explained that more.. the ones u see me use there was only temporary to test fit the door against some rubber. Soon I'm gonna to be making a video of finishing small things around the trailer then ill show exactly how I seal and finish them up. A lot of people just bend the rubber around but it always leaves a small gap and just looks bad. Thank you for watching!!

Hi. I'm drawing my trailer at the moment. I like the angle on your doors. How many degrees did you make it and how much does it stick out or how proud is it from the trailer side?

Hi Marius. What is your difference in width between the one part and the other part of the hinge. In other words, from bend line to bend line. I see you have space for a washer in between the two parts. I'm busy with mine, just want to make sure before I send them off for laser cutting. I also had to move the pivot point of the hinge because it pinches the rubber between the door and frame when it closes.

I had a friend whos and engineer to give me a green light on my a frame design. Actually he laughed at me for over doing it.. said i could carry 4 tons on that frame if i wanted to. I used a hectic c channel cast ip. On the thickest part of the radius its almost 12mm thick. that's why i had holes cut to save weight cause it was very over engineered

Welgedaan Marius. Met min gereedskap maak jy planne om nog steeds die werk te kan doen. Bietjie raad wat ek by Bad Obsession Motorsport gekry het. (Terloops, kyk hulle KZread kanaal hoe hulle 'n mini ombou) Kry vir jou 'n step drill om plaat metaal te boor. Dit gaan baie makliker, veral om groot gate te boor, kom dit baie mooi rond uit en nie so skeef en krom soos met 'n gewone boorpunt nie.

Tork Craft s'n is nie te duur nie. Beslis die moeite werd. Ek het myne nou al meer as 'n jaar, en is my eerste keuse as ek deur enige iets tot op 4mm wil boor. Plastiek, staal en aluminum werk dit baie goed, het nog nie stainless steel probeer nie.

Hi. The basic shape and layout is from the conqueror companion camper range. I just changed everything I don't like about them and added the stuff that was missing from them. But the whole design was done from scratch. It's also custom dimensions so not based off their size exactly. If u Google them ull see the similarities. Thanks for watching!
