Preventing off-road dust inside my Camper Trailer - Part 3

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hi everyone, Today I'll be building the positive pressure system for my off-road camping caravan trailer. This will also be used later on as the evaporative cooler for the camper. It basically uses cleaned filtered air to pressurize the inside of your caravan / camper in order to prevent dust from coming inside. Dust ingress is usually a big problem when off-roading for most campers, canopy's and camping trailers. This DIY Pressure system should take care of dust and more.
Thanks for watching!

i live in Central Oregon and dust is a real issue during summer months. I had not thought about an automotive air filter. I am thinking about adding some form of filter on my max fan to filter the air when we travel. Thank you for the idea.

Great idea including the filter into the setup. Also take up so little space and is cost effective.

For the small air intake I would just make a bigger cover. It won't look odd as the fridge cover protrudes any way. Give it the same bevel and use much thinner material with supports to save weight.

I have ordered the steel for a louver cover already. If that doesn't work I'll look at other options. Thank you so much

Positive pressure is a good idea, and sounds like the way to go. Can't imagine how you're gonna do the cooling.

Nice video, gave me some ideas thanks. Also louvers on a square sleeve frame that could be inserted and screwed into position would have made the fan accessible later on

Thank yo sir.. Yep that would def be better.. I just wasn't sure if the fan would work and didn't want to spend hours on something that might not work. Once tested and it works i will def have to look at getting the fan assessable. Your idea will work just fine. Thank you so much

Jou idee van 'n waaier is beslis 'n wenner. En die lug filter is ook 'n baie slim plan. Ek sal graag jou idee van 'n evaporative cooler wil sien. Ek het self 'n paar idees in my agterkop.

While I think sheet steel is really the wrong material choice, damn do you know how to work with it. Well done mate, this trailer is a thing of beauty.

May I ask, where you got or what type of hinges those are? I have tried to source them but I'm not having any luck. Thankful for any help.

Hi, All hinges on the trailer was built, on most of them I needed custom angles so buying them was not an option. They start life as a flat sheet of 3mm stainless steel being laser cut to my drawings. I then bend and weld them up to form a hinge. I've got 4 more hinges to build soon and ill show exactly how I do them. Thank you

Are you using the same thickness of sheet metal throughout the build and If so what thickness is it? If you mentioned it in one or more of the vids I'm sorry, I just missed it. I look forward to all you videos. Keep them up!! Love it.

Hi there, the outer shell is mostly 2mm, the angle iron wall thickness vary from 1.6mm to 5mm depending on where I need strength. Shelves , drawers , pantry and so on is 1.6mm and some small pieces are 1.2mm. Thank you
