About: Satisfactory
Satisfactory is a first-person open-world factory building game with a dash of exploration and combat. Pioneering for FICSIT Incorporated means charting and exploiting an alien planet, battling alien lifeforms, creating multi-story factories, entering conveyor belt heaven, automating vehicles, and researching new technologies.
This Factorio like game has heavy automation, with automated mining, crafting, and you can even automate movement!

Do you plan your builds, or just hope everything turns out okay?

Yes, please do another train guide (with right-hand drive). That would be amazing! :)
I find people's Satisfactory preferences so fascinating. I love hypertubes because you just pop in and then get ejected where you want to go. I can go fill up my water or whatever and even if I get distracted when I come back to my computer I'm where I want to be.
Are you a kind of industrial architect in real life ? All your builds are so clean and looks so great :o
@oditeomnes

In the industry (at least in developed countries) we prioritize HSE, quality and then process. In terms of logistics specifically we optimize the 3 flows: material flow (well represented in this game), money flow (not relevant here, unless you think of energe as a currency of sorts) and information flow (in this game, communication between players). In short a "real" modelling of a factory would first and foremost have safety in all things, guard rails, etc... Then environment protection part would be things like machine oil management and containers from all the press tools and things like that. This game does not account for employees, machine maintenance and economy, but there are a lot of tools within LEAN and theories of industry 4.0 that can be practiced in Satisfactory. For instance look at 5S when building factory, TPS(Toyota production system) to reduce waste and inefficiency and OEE to measure your efficiency to begin with.

"Balls". So utterly and uniquely English. Love your channel, chap ;-)
Fantastic Train station! Looks absolutely gorgeous
I'm french and i totaly loved the "Coup de théâtre" !
Loving the train station design. I'm adding a third base currently which necessitates rebuilding all things train and I appreciate the constant reminders I get watching your builds that I always need at least 8x more space than I think I do just eyeballing it at the outset. Finally learning how to lay out everything a build needs before I lock into a footprint and design plan. I think a train station which requires loads of flat ground requires all the buildings and logistics to be planned out first and then the shape and design is built up around it. There's less design constraints and so more freedom with a factory building full of individual machines but after the massive migraine that was trying to shoehorn everything I needed into a remodel of my starter factory buildings, I still think the layout should always come first. As for aesthetics, I usually only have some basic ideas and run into the same problem as you when I mash ideas together and find they don't mesh well. I plan on doing a bit of research first and having an aesthetic ready to go for an upcoming advanced component factory. And congrats on the engagement!
5:33 The "Hamburg Hauptbahnhof" is very nice xD
Please do another train video! Always loved your train tutorials and learnt so much!

If Josh knew what he started when chaining those Hypertupe entrances... 😁
I'm just now getting into Tier 8 builds in my very first playthrough on Satisfactory. Thanks in large part to you and Kibitz, I have learned a ton and avoided the worst spaghetti, but I am still coming to grips with how to plan and build connections between factories around the map, and how to make factories walkable. I think I get the basics of train signalling by this point, but the sort of large scale, worldwide logistics network planning is still tough to get my head around. If you have any time to do a video on that sort of logistics planning, and/or designing large factories so they make sense to navigate on foot, I would really appreciate it.

Amazing !
Congratz to you and Edna!
In my current save I'm literally (no joke) in the middle of running a Hyper Tube line from my hub area to my Turbopower plant and watching this makes me want to rip it out and start running a rail line instead, because trains > tubes each and every day.
Congratulations!
Congrats on the engagement!
if you put train head on both end and put head station for both end, you can route the train without make the loop. it work like normal train station that bring people
@gdlifesteal5824
Жыл бұрын
But then you use 2 locomotives that's double the power consumption
Everything I build just looks like a brick. This is just awesome. I hope you don't mind me using this as an inspiration.
I really do need to watch a guide on trains. Just did my first station on my current build (last build was a few years back) and it looked like I can’t take track up steep foundation blocks or create a push pull system (has to be a loop). But both you have done here. And tracks joining each other. I haven’t been able to do that yet. Didn’t even know if it was possible
After seeing new builds again im like. I think i have to tear down some factories of mine..
Congrats on the Engagement!
Good job.
You make factory look like a train station, and then you make the train station look like a temple
New train guide - yes please 🚂
Awesome job! how do you take those aerial shots like a drone video!? i love it!
My buddies and I just started a server and are playing over from the beginning. Now that we have Update 7 upon us, maybe consider a new list of best and worst recipes? Love watching you work, and the results.

@@RimorSmooth I set up a server through Indifferent Broccoli. $12 a month. The game started laggy, but it turns out the game's default setting for FPS is infinite, so once I lowered that to a sane 60 FPS it was smooth sailing. So much fun. Would recommend.
Ah finally one of my factories surpasses a streamer! xD I built a 25x2 fuel generator factory with roughly 1/3 of them overclocked to 250%
I must say, I've been more-or-less successful in giving myself enough space to put down everything I need to and I've properly learned the lesson of using smart splitters to build scalable manifold lines that won't just spike my power consumption at random intervals. In fact, it's that last point that's enabled me to advance confidently in my current project. I tore down my initial steel production facility (which sits on top of a pure iron and 4 normal coal nodes) and, after running some calculations, rebuilt it with now 5 rows of 13 (5x13 = 65) foundries whose resources are distributed via smart splitter. The idea is that it'll have the initial resource nodes it's sitting on to ensure a minimum constant output, but I could ship in additional resources in via my two-sided train line to boost production. All the while the smart splitters ensure I don't have to be there to connect anything and will scale things up automatically. My big issue is that I'm still struggling with making my factory floors look nice while dealing with: spacing the machines, lighting, fun architectural details, and all while making the place WALKABLE. Smaller buildings are no issue, it's really the ones that have HUGE lines like the new scalable steel factory I'm making right now. I've gotten better at making the outside look pretty by introducing depth with foundations, different building materials, and signs, but it's the *inside*, the space around these titanically long manifold lines themselves, that I'm struggling with.
i would really love a easy to understand train guide
4:01 Something I've learned through playing enough times is if you're going to build 1 track, you might as well build two. Sure it might start off as a push-pull system, but as your needs increase, you're going to want it to be looped to avoid train crashes.

Dafaq that looks like a real life train station I'm shocked
In ark you can make re fertiliser to make trees and plants grow back in areas around your base they normally wouldn't because of the no build area. I'd love something like this in satisfactory to repair the damage my early game spagetti builds and fuel for power generation destroy. Maybe a mix of bio fuel petals n bug protein?
Congratulations on getting engaged! I also love the pride wall you've got going on!
i would love a train guide because i currently have spaghetti trains

Please Please Please do another train build guide. I have watched all your video's but I don't use any mods and taking the track at an angle for long distances or making 45 turns for me just looks like crap and I need help in seeing you actually build something in vanilla would be so very nice of you. I used the 90-degree track method you had used previously "Three up and three across". When trying to use the curved method, I am struggling to get the catwalk turn method to match the track 90-degree
i am complaining that you are using right hand instead of left.
What is the right hand drive thing of which you speak?
@georgeu6994
Жыл бұрын
Like driving on the right side of the road (that's right hand drive). So if there are 2 tracks next to each other, they go away from you on the right, and towards you on the left. Left hand drive is the opposite (driving on the left side).
@clnetrooper
Жыл бұрын
@@georgeu6994 funnily enough, trains are not as standardized as cars. They don't, almost all, drive on the right. A lot of trains (not all) drive on the left in europe for example, while in north america they're usually driving on the right.
