Building Layers With Mixed Media | Judy Woods Art
How do you incorporate mixed media in your paintings? It's great to switch from careful painting to spontaneous expressive work, using wet media and dry, making intentional moves, and combining them with accidental uncontrolled mark making. Watch and see how I do this.

Thanks Judy, your process is similar to Nicholas Wilton Art2life and Pamela Coughey. It’s a fun way to work and very effective, 😍
Awesome! I can see your style come through in these various marks that are uniquely your own. So beautiful to watch you do this!!
Just so excited I found you. It never fails, when scolling thru Pinterest your art catches my eye everytime. Just love it. Following
Hello from Austria! How do you apply the gloss medium so you don't smudge the pastels?
Incredible. Love the piece at this stage. And thanks for the guidance!
I'm curious to see what you would do next. Do you have a video that shows that part? I am enjoying your free workshop, but the how of building enticing layers that show through the final product eludes me! I have signed up for your stARTs course and expect to learn much more. Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing y our processes, Judy. Watching you work is always very inspiring.
Hi Judy. I just watched a video about how you make harmonious colours by using the mother colour or adding a bit of any previously mixed colour into the new colour. Do you do this technique with all your paintings? This one for instance?
Thank you for this encouraging and inspiring video.
Is this a R&F oil stick?,
Excellent
I really like this video and your explanation as you demonstrate. How long does it take for the pastels to dry before you use the gloss medium? Are there some pastels that take longer to dry? I used Sennelier oil pastels and they're softer than some. What do you use and what was the darker oil stick you used last? Love your courses and look forward to your Arty Chats mentoring calls.
Is the pastel water-soluble or oil pastel? iff it is Oil pastel can you cover Oil pastel with gloss medium? Water over oil?
I have found that the Oil Sticks don't dry and it gets mushed into subsequent layers of paint. Which Oil sticks do you recommend?
