BUILDING HASEGAWA F-35 LIGHTNING II - 1/72 SCALE AIRCRAFT MODEL KIT

Ойын-сауық

In this video I am building Hasegawa 1/72 scale F-35B Lightning II scale model kit.
I mostly did it right out of the box, but I made some adjustments to the plane as the primary purpose would be to be in a "flying position".
- The landing gear was cut and rebuilt in the fully extended position.
- The horizontal stabilizer was positioned at an angle.
- Also, because the color of the decals from the kit were wrong, the main color was painted over them again.
It is one of the nice models of Hasegawa that can be finished in a short time without much effort.I hope the video helps you. Enjoy watching.

    @@ugurkenelHi sir, may I know which size you choose of the hand drill when you do drilling to the landing gear? And also, did you put the extra length plastic bar into the hole from you drilled, or just glued on it? Sorry for bothering, but I really like to recreate your customize work on mine to make it look like more real.

    The video editing is as good as the build and thats saying something. May i ask the grey colour call out,i think you did post shading as well. I like the detail Hasegawa bring to the table,in your view is this one of the better F-35 kits? Ive learnt from your tinting and shading over the decals. Very interesting. Do you use decal solutions. Sorry loads of questions. Thank you for sharing your skill. Enjoyed watching this very much 😊

  • @ugurkenel

    @ugurkenel

    Thanks. Gray(dark gray) is Hataka A144 Dark Sea Grey. Not post shading, original decal colors was too bright,or too light, so i was need to recude it bit by applying dark gray color over decals. But, yes application was like tinting. I used diluted Gray. Hasegawa F-35 is good model for 72 scale. There was no fitting problem and detail was good. But i am sure there are other good F-35 models on other companies. I didnt built them, i cannot say anything about them.

    OK, lovely build and great video production! Made it so very easy to watch. Why do you use traditional cement and not a more modern version? Why did you sand the internal circular tube (?) so hard? Love the cockpit glass, not seen that before. The way you created a socket for the stand was ace, again not seen before. Really good, just a shame so many modern jets paint is so bland?! Bob England

  • @ugurkenel

    Hi Bob. I use CA glue, because it dries in a couple of minutes. It makes strong attachment also. Sanding internal circular tube? There were very visible seamlines,mold marks. So i had to sand it. And yes as you said, modern jets means, uniform gray color. Cold war era was the best on this subject.

    Excellent build, man! However, there is a big mistake: F-35B can hover with open main weapons bay doors only. It uses them as air and gas flow stabilization manifold for stable hovering in place. So you shouldn't do them close if you do a model in a hovering position. In this position they are open.
