Hi Paul, yes Steve's build is coming along and hopefully she will hit the water in January sometime. But in Australia everything shuts down over the Christmas break so getting sails and a trailer might take longer. Thanks again for watching and taking the time to leave a comment, cheers Paul

Hi Paul, I came here to tell you that you're ruining somebody's else life 😋 You probably don't remember me, the short, I used to have a big boat, Beneteau 31, but got tired of going alone, so sold it last year. I don't mind solo sailing, just not on that size. Thought I'd wait out to see what I would do, then discovered your channel and Roger Barnes.I have watched every single of your videos. I did find a dinghy cruising group here in Canada, so then started my search, I wanted something small to fit in my garage (it's only 19 feet deep) and that I could sleep inside, call me old fashioned. I also thought about building, but kept searching and now found a West Wight Potter 15, I think it will perfect for my needs. I can't wait, I have so many little (and big) lakes to explore around here! Anyways, thank you, it's your fault. Apologies about writing a novel, it almost feels like I know you and I wanted to tell how you do inspire people. Fair winds!

Wow congrats, my cousin is about to do the same thing, sell his yacht and get a Bay Raider 17. You will have just as much fun without the cost and you can go sailing when you like with other like minded people and there appears to be many. Please send me a photo when you hit the water, cheers Paul sailingkatelouise@gmail.com

Hi Paul, beautiful vid as always. Only but one thing: it is always about wood! Yes its is durable and yes it seems easy material. i would like to make a strong plea for building in aluminum as well! Is it more difficult? No. It is different. Is it more expensive? No again. And durability? There is a lot to say about that too. I entered my “building-journey” in constructing and welding my Pocketship in aluminum. I learned a awful lot and also that modifications and repairs are so easy in aluminum. I guess unfamiliarity is an important issue.

Thanks Arjen, you will be pleased to know that we now have 2 pocket ships in the group, but they haven't been on the same raid yet. As for Aluminium, I would love to meet someone building a sail boat in Aluminium. I just think there aren't that many (non professional) people out there that have Aluminium welding skills in the small boat world. Lets hope someone proves me wrong, cheers Paul

I have a ness yoal that I need to turn over to glass, fill, fair and paint the underside, by myself, so I need a frame I can suspend it from. Does anyone have a drawing I could use to build one ? Shes needing some small few planks replaced inside and the mast is a state. Planning to just use a dinghy aluminium mast to replace that bit. Cheers. However shes not suitable for sail camping really so I bought a National 18 with built in floor making her perfect to sleep on but the 22 foot tall mast is more than I need or can manage with just my wife. Any recommendations appreciated. I've bought a small selection of second hand masts to create a new rig but finding a complete rig for a smaller boat ... preferably gaff would be so helpful. Thank you folks North Ayrshire

Hi, you should be able to rig up some slings using heavy duty tie down straps as I don't think the Ness is that heavy. The boat shed uses the same build station (Jig) on which to build different dinghies, it just has to be square and level. They attach the build frame to the station. If you contact Bill (details in the description) they might have built a Ness there before and be able to give you more help. Send me a photo when you are up and sailing, cheers Paul
