That's really cool! I was searching for a way to build a rope drawn barge to cross our river but I like this raft better. I can always put eye bolts on either side of the raft roof lines and go back and forth that way, disconnecting when I want to explore the whole river. Nice video! I love that your family got involved. Great job kids!!

I would also make the floating surface area wider than the standing area, thereby giving you greater stability and resistance to tipping. But who cares, really?! The craft looks like a blast to be on as is! 😎

That's a pretty raft! I'm going to make a 4-foot x 8 foot 1 and fill it with Marine expanding foam and styrofoam and give it paneling and coat it with fiberglass resin

All you need to know when building a raft is the law of flotation The mass of the vessel has to be less then the mass of the water it displaces. I really enjoyed video btw

This is awesome! Thank you for making this video, you've given me inspiration to build my own raft! I plan on using your design, minus the table in the middle. I wanna make mine big enough for my boyfriend & I to go camping on, in the middle of a near by creek. I'll need space for a queen/double sleeping mat & sleeping bag, a cooler, and an area to sit & dry off. Also, I plan to drape fairy lights (white Christmas lights) over top of the raft, and around the poles.

Great just to get on the water and chill. ps should have life wests on the kids 👍👍👍😜🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🦕🤞✌

One can be an excellent swimmer and still drown. :(

Great project for both yourself and the kids to enjoy together, and great fun to sail together. i am a heavy set person so my thinking is that I would need to increase the buoyancy and general stability of the craft(possibly with side strapped Pontoons . Not to detract from the fun , but I would also add a trawling motor , DC Powered with a Solar Power Inverter system, and really go out there undeterred and fish for a whole day.

I liked this because it is a family Project. And I like see children learn. It's important bring the chidren to close the family.

Not enough flotation. I'd put outriggers on the give it more stability. Still. Fun project and looks like a blast..

Loved this, i would make some rounded wood dowels for sides to hold on to and keep safe for riding. ( like railings) Make so you can remove and put on, as you please. Especially for kids riding.

you should make one that is about five times the size and could have a BBQ and hammock and a tarpaulin for a roof so its dry when it rains. you could anchor it in the middle of the lake ans use your raft you have already made to row out to it. you could set up a tent and camp on it.

Great raft looks fantastic. You can consider a small trolling motor that runs on car batteries if l you like .

Hi, i left that bit in the middle empty, because i wantet du use that part to chill down the drinks. Other that that, thats true - it floats well but more canisters are always a good idea!

Awesome family project with the kids... A couple ideas to make it better, add removable outriggers for stability, tidy up the "roof" a little, perhaps an "A" frame system (PVC pipe would be lighter), add some padded seats, and fishing rod holders and hell, you could go fishing on that thing...

Needs a little bit more floatation. Nice
