Looks great. Going to build one that slides onto my tire changer thanks.

+Chuck's Classic Cycles Around here sometimes it's impossible to get a flat fixed, or at least done right. I can't afford a new modern tire machine so I do it the old fashioned way. manual labor. trying to scuff up the inside of a stiff tire can be a challenge sometimes without a second set of hands. thanks for the comment

Thanks, I think i have used it once and that's a good thing. Those stiff tires are hard to hold open and see what you are doing.

Do you ever have tires that after the flats are fixed are hard to get aired back up because the rubber doesn't fit the rim close enough?

yes, and sometimes i use a ratchet strap around the middle of the tire to try and get the beads pushed out more. But once it seats you have to get the strap off before it gets to tight. But usually if the tire has been on the rim long enough , i don't have any problem.

Thanks. Ratchet strap sounds like a good idea.

Cool design and great work and all, but couldn't you just use two pieces of 2x4 inside the tire to make it wider while you worked? I store mower tires with 2x4 pieces inside because the tire rubber will collapse and then it's impossible to get the bead to seat even with a ratchet strap, bead seater etc.

When trying to buff the tire and clean it to get a patch to stick, the wood would limit my view and be in my way while buffing.

you know where I am. I have a tire changer and wheel balancer if you ever need help.
