Building a replica of the B9 robot from Lost in Space
Фильм және анимация
A work in progress: building an animatronic replica of the Lost in Space robot called B9. This series aired on TV in the 1960s. I plan to update this robot soon (2021) with new electronics and animations.
Bonus footage at the end: a proposed all CGI version of the Lost in Space TV series which never came to fruition. Designed and rendered in Lightwave and Zbrush used for modeling. Team effort with Rob Depew / disturbedpixels

Bob May (rip) would be put out of a job if he were still with us. lol I could only dream to have the ability & creative mind you have. I have a 10" B9 replica toy which I cherish. To have a full size animatronic B9 replica, PRICELESS!!
Stunning! As a LIS fan, that's the best thing I've watched since the series itself. You guys are incredible.
Amazing work on one of the coolest robots ever. Your B9 will be one of the coolest robots ever made.
Started in the club like 20 years ago and every attempt life has had other plans. Recently life seems to be telling me it’s time to get my b9 completed. Videos like yours make me motivated. Maybe 2024 will be the year of b9.
Thanks for uploading! This is a huge effort! It'll be great to see him completed.
@benjiboy1962, no it went on the back burner for quite awhile. Great thing is technology has evolved allowing me today to revamp the whole thing.so I'm looking forward too rebuilding and finishing him off. I'll post videos here when I update.
A magnificent robot and excellent, detailed video presentation of your great workmanship and determination (evidenced by all those imperfect castings!)
Amazing! Great work! Can't wait to see it finished!
Will I hate you! This is fantastic! Your robot kills me you really are going to have a work of art! Great work and the xtras blew me away!

pretty impressive for the time period
nicely done
Unbeliveable
I hope to have him done by years end!
Truly Inspirational, you and I must must be the biggest Lost in space B9 fans in the world. I went to a Lost In Space convention in Ohio 2003 (with my family) Hosted by the B9 robot builders club we met Bob May (the man inside B9), Don West (the Pilot), sad to say Johnathan Harris (Dr. Smith) was scheduled to be there but past away late 2002. Always loved LIS and was so inspired I went to engineering college. 1 of my inventions is a DJ stand that looks like a robot, keep us posted on progress.
You just blew my socks off!!!!!!
This is some serious devotion. And I thought I was a LIS fan.
At 1:37 A jig for the plastic tines of the head. Very cool :)
Ps. Awesome creation.
awsome
Great job!!!!..I CAN´T HARLDLY WAIT TO THE YEARS END!! :)
I always wondered If the robot was call a B-9 because he was basically friendly
You absolutely RULE! My own ambitions are limited to the Revell model kit! Very interested in seeing your finished product. And could you PLEASE post an update on the piece of music used for the first two-plus minutes of your video here? The music was as inspirational as the work you are doing! Thanks for keeping alive those dreams we have as kids!
What may be known is there to be known
Next they’re gonna make a 1/1 real working Jupiter 2. Trust
I love the robot my favorite other than the family.😊😊😊😊😊😊.
I saw several sets of arms. Are you planning to sell a few extra robots to help pay for moulds ?
Where are the plans, schematics, price lists, vendors to purchase from, programming for wood cuts, wiring diagrams . . . dimensions, blueprints, lofting . . . material lists

Keep Up Thy GOOD JOB, fxrtst11 !!!
@tripleJ1955 Yes, although not true function, in that the treads will not carry the weight of the robot (300+ pounds). It will be an illusion carried out by motorized wheel chair motors, some wheels and gears.
At 1:50 how are the tines mounted? glued in place or mechanically held in place with fine screws?
How´s going with the B9 construction progress I mean?
Does anyone know where I can get a autocad dwg of al exterior? I don't care about working parts, I just need all external dimensions.
Not yet finished....day work got in the way..should have him done by the end of fall...or winter.
When will see the finish product in action? Regards from Mexico City
Beautiful job my friend. My favorite robot from my favorite TV show.I grew old but never grew up. Do you make them for others ?
It is finished yet???
How´s the B9 progress??? Greetings!
Every video does not have to contain music
@Franciszek64 Soon!
fxrtst11 Did you finish the B9 and if so are you going to put up more content? I would certainly like to see more :)
@fxrtst11 Cool!!!! Thanks!!!! =D
swee-hee-heeeet!
Do you build these for others?

@@johnottman4762 Currently there is no licensing available in the LIS world for selling complete robots at this time.
With all your 3D skills, why aren't you working on something original? We are breaking our backs trying to do some original Sci-Fi on a film called Matt Mercury and it's so hard to find creative people willing to chart new paths!
What happened with the Robot B9 replica??

We need a Full Length Motion Picture!!!!!!!!!! The Technology is there.... Bring those Sons a B@#$ches HOME!!
Wait. That's NOT the original
This is very cool - your I.Q. must be off the scale...
You are incredibly talented! I have a B-9 Creations robot. Would you ever consider being contracted to provide the modifications for that robot. Please check "Sanderson Orrery" on KZread for other items that I have commissioned.
