Great job, I need to put a mezzanine floor in my shed! I put silver foil foam insulation (about 6mm thick) over my shed roof frame and then fixed my roofing corrugated sheets on top. It keeps everything much cooler. My brother is getting a shed built now, he will wrap the whole shed roof and frame in foam foil insulation, and then fix the cladding over the top. He lives in a hotter place than I do.

I would like to have a shed with not just a mezzanine floor but a heavy-duty overhead gantry hoist so I can load my display pieces!

No problem. Hope yours works out well. There are a number of companies offering similar kits (probably a company close to you in WA). Cheers Dave.

That is a nice kit - the balustrades look really nice. It must be a little warm working directly under that roof. I like the little Moke...or is there two? We have a little '69 Mk2 mini that I need to get ready to sell so I can carry on with my build. I have neglected the cars too much. 👍🏻

There are two Mokes in there somewhere. A 1976 that is about 80% done (needs to be sold to fund other projects). The other one is a 1980 galvinized body model that was an ex Coke promotion vehicle. Going to leave this one as is with the patina and old paint and just do the mechanicals. Cheers Dave.

I’m glad I found your channel. I want to do the same in my 9m x 9m x 3.4m wall shed. Is it cheaper than wood? 👍🇦🇺

I would think timber would be cheaper. Although a 4 metre span would take some decent size timber for the bearers and floor joists. I went with the steel because the loading factor on the floor was higher than timber and I did like the 'industrial' look. Cheers Dave.

Hi there, what’s something like that cost?

There is a link in the video description that will show some of the popular sizes and approximate prices. For just the mezzanine kit as shown 6 metres x 4 metres the cost is about $6500 AUD which includes the plans and certification, materials and delivery (but excludes the cost of what flooring you use). Then you add the cost of the stairs and what type of handrails you want. Cheers Dave.

Hello. Please need expert's suggestions/advice. We hired a contractor for a mezzanine floor for our shop and our contractor by mistake/intentionally fixed 50mm PU sandwich panel on floor and finished concrete over it. We have mixed opinion about using sandwich panel as a floor. Our shop is going to open soon and our contractor is still very sure about it because he said sandwich panel has very good load bearing capacity. We are very confused and we do not have a time for re-work. Can anybody suggest me what to do in that case. Thank you

How thick is the concrete? Rebar? And what is the span, etc.

Concrete is 4cm thick. Span is 1.5m with 100x200 beam and inside is around 1sqm with tube support of 50x100

The concrete will delaminate from the sandwich panel. He had to to use the right steeldeck.
