Once it's in place it's lowered and the weight is off the casters

@@HouseMadeUS silicone the anvil to the base and then make some straps to mechanically bolt it. You will not need the sand to deaden the ring at that point unless you just want the extra mass. All my anvils are on metal stands If they are clamped tight to the stand it does not ring

@Labrador_Forge yeah I want the lower center of gravity so I'll do the sand. Silicone on the menu too. Should be neat to see it all together.

I can't justify the use of steel plate for my stand😟 but will build it from square tube of which I have plenty😉and adjust the lift mech to suit👍😎

Yes and yes. The Jack system is there just to get the wheels on the floor then you lock those bolts into place to safely move it around. Lift, remove the bolts and set it back down on the floor where you want it.
