How to make an anvil stand
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I was hired to build this anvil stand as a gift for someone. It turned out to be a pretty fun project and was a nice break from dealing with complicated and finicky kitchen knives!!!
I started off with an 8ft section of pressure treated 6x6 lumber which I cut into 22" sections and glued together. After the glue had some time to set up, I bolted some sections of bar stock to it and then welded the corners together. This thing is a chunk and I'm sure it will serve its new owner well.

100% about the harbor freight clamps!
Bought a 450 lb anvil. I enjoyed your video that gives me lots of ideas.

That's a huge anvil!
I like it. Just getting into blacksmithing and watching bunch if videos on how to make a stand and put my own idea from everything ive seen into my own. 👍🇨🇦🇺🇸
Built one similar several years ago. Just went to move it and due to wood drying the shrinkage made everything loose.
Great stuff. Glad i watched. On my way to the lumber shop now!
Thanks for the idea. I'm just getting started myself and now I know what to do for my anvil stand.
Just came across your video. Great build and for a good cause!
Nice job. Found you on Texas Overland.

Just wondering why you choose pressure treated? Might be all you can get 6x6 in...
where are you located ? And would you be interested in building one for sale?

I could make you one if you want but the shipping would be so expensive it wouldn't be worth it unless you were able to pick it up.

Ya, I would not be showing this to others, too many dangerous ideas and hazards,

Using tools is inherently dangerous.
I never like to see experienced makers not use there angle grinders guard as it can set a bad example for younger smiths. I recommend getting a Dewalt angle grinder as the guard is very easy to adjust. I know because I use a DeWalt.

Kinda hard to use the flat of the grinding wheel with the guard on lol. Each smith is responsible for their own safety as am I.
