Building a Micro House Boat (Start to Finish)
Ойын-сауық
I challenge Zach @FowlersMakeryandMischief to build the world's smallest micro house boat that has all the amenities including cooking, sleeping, sitting, and so much more. Join me on this adventure while I work to building the most epic house boat, or pontoon boat that is fully equipped for overnight.
Zach Fowler Tiny Houseboat Part 1: • Solar Tiny Houseboat B...
Zach Fowler Tiny Houseboat Part 2: • Solar Tiny Houseboat B...
I got this tiny boat for free and and challenged myself to build a house boat that was beautiful, functional, and cheap enough to build. With the help of a bit of new material, and a lot of reused scavenged material, I will turn it into a luxurious solo micro house boat.

"Self-Reliance" is an 1841 essay written by American transcendentalist philosopher and essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson. It contains the most thorough statement of one of Emerson's recurrent themes: the need for each individual to avoid conformity and false consistency, and follow his own instincts and ideas. This channel will approach self reliance from a modern perspective. and will focus on various build projects using modern amenities, and tools to build a completely self reliant lifestyle.
Many people ask me where I am from and where I film my projects. I am from Northern Ontario, Canada, and live in an area where off-grinding is easy because I have lots of land to build on and experiment with different buildings and materials. Everything I do is to try to be more self reliant, and to depend less on others. But that doesn't mean I don't like working together with other people on projects. Knowing people who have skills is part of being self reliant, and trading skills is a great way to get more things done!

Dude I would put a full stop at the end to show I’ve watched the whole way but that has just been a repeat of the build you done already? No “NEW CONTENT” but I guess anything for that like button being pushed or that subscriber coming through I feel disappointed from this video.. really thought it was a new part from that build 👎🏻

i've already watched it all the way through before. sorry, you will only get several seconds of my time as i skip through the video to confirm this. i was really hoping for an update on this project.
Thank you for sharing your experience with this shed manual, a useful and well-designed resource for building your own shed. kzread.infoUgkxzaRUJNcbypw-fRBDbqqz43ULIa-1EGP- It sounds like you enjoyed the process of creating something new, rather than repairing something old. The pictures in the manual were helpful and informative. I'm glad your dad liked it and is looking forward to building a shed. The hardcover edition was a good choice, as it is more durable and resistant to car fluids than the soft cover ones. I appreciate your feedback. blush
Use cooking oil to get the adhesive off. Trust me. It's always worked for me. It will get gooey and messy but with each wipe with a paper towel or cloth will bring it all off. Let it sit and rub it in with your fingers keeping it oily, and it will start to free up after about 30 minutes. Full stop
Full Stop. I watched this build earlier in the three parts. Great to see it as one long movie.
Caravan window scratch remover will do a treat to the front window
WD-40 is good for sticker removal. Love the boat🎉

I was thinking alcohol…. After using WD you will have to clean the grease off.

Alcohol will leave a dull finish on the Lexan, which will not wash off. Not sure about WD... I would test a small area first because I think it will also dull the finish. Full stop & 👍
The other day I was thinking about how realistic & practical. It'd be to build a lightweight mini house boat/camper that could be towed behind an ebike or motorized bicycle. Once you put boat into water. You'd strap the bicycle to front, rear or side of boat.
I love the boat! You should name it The Tiny-Tanic! I always watch all your videos to the very end! Thanks for the laughs. You rock. Have a great weekend Kevin!
So I've been having this dream of building a crashed UFO in my backyard, and in the dream I deck it out to sleep in but add a space ship theme. I don't have the knowledge or skillset, and if you ever are struggling to find an idea, I feel like you are the man to pull it off correctly

fULL sTOP... Not only did I watch this all the way through, I watched when you did them individually all the way through. I love you and your crew... including your fur friends.
Full stop. So very interesting while waiting to see what screws up next! 😂 Thanks Kevin!
I had just watched bits of the houseboat construction while it was in parts. But this time, FULL STOP, I have enjoyed the entire 1 hour 31 min video session. How instructive and entertaining at the same time! It just feels like we are with you going through the paces. You got me freezing as you were trying to break the ice on the lake. God, that must have been so cold... and you did that for how long?! Anyway, thanks for inviting us onto your projects. I can't wait to watch you build a flying object of some sort, and spend the night in it of course. Congratulations!
slow day at work... full stop I hadn't seen this project before, so it was a fun watch!
Saw all 3 videos a yr. Ago, this just puts them together.
I remember watching this video. Like certain moments were a distant echo from another time. I hope you are doing well. Full stop. Thanks for entertaining us!
Full Stop Coffee with Kevin would be a great name.
Yah! Full stop! I loved this one! I have a dinghy off my grandparents racing yacht. I want a houseboat now!
Cracked up when you casted off into ice. Nice build
I watched it all!! FULL STOP!
Full stop. I always watch the full video, I don’t know why you wouldn’t. Keep them coming.
Full stop Holy crap. This is the first video of your’s I’ve had the pleasure to view. You are a very strange man. Wonder why I never thought of making a motor with a drill?!?

Watched 4 of your videos must say you're a skilled ingenius person. Your projects are fun. You have a great sense of humor too. Cute little boat.
Awesome Kevin. Thank you.
Full Stop!! Great Video, Thanks
FULL STOP!!! I been watching your previous videos and when I saw this one I was like wait didn't he do this before???
It should be named The Kev'O Jr! The iceberg info was interesting to know too! It was cool Kev!! Mac from Houston Texas!😮😢
Like syrup from the tree! I was stunned the water from a tree that turns to syrup is so incredibly refreshing!
Full Stop! It was fun to watch the build!
Full-stop!! Loved your adventure and thank you for sharing ❤💚🙏🏽💫
Full stop! As always, keep it up Kevin!!
Full stop. Kevin you are so fun to watch. I love the ideas that you come up with. You should find two mini life preservers, one for each of the outsides for decoration, Oh! and anchors too. For some reason it almost looks like a mini paddle wheeler boat. Maybe you can add miniture decks and railings on the side and a miniature wheelhouse on it. On the back or sides add a fake paddle wheel. Use one of those plastic containers for floatation, cover it to look like a paddle wheel this will extend the back of the boat. Or the side paddle wheels could disguise the outriggers.
Kevin, I believe you can steam the backing off the lexan. We do that with removing old widow tint. Spray area with soapy water then appy a plastic bag over that. Then you add a heat source to steam. Could be the direct sun or other heat source. Love your channel, keep building.
Full stop. Tickle me el' boat lol. Builders build. Never stop, Kevin.
Makery and mischief..... I'd watch you two regardless if there a piggybacking situation lol
WATKINS Linament! That is a heritage brand of household remedy. Don is just the fella to introduce that for the camera.
Kevin! I enjoyed this moviecedit of yours *Full Stop* 😉😁 I would LOVE to see you take this boat out and do an overnight, or even a 2-day camping on it this coming spring. Or summer. It would be great to see you using your drill motor, with the adjustments you talked about in this movie, as you tool around a full lake without being trapped by ice. Thank you for this edit, as well as your original build series this came from. I watched that when you first released them. Be Excellent to each other and keep your stick on the ice. 🤘🎸😎🏒
The drawing brought back memories of Mr Dressup, thank you.

I watch every precious second of your videos. This one really had some variety. Most interesting build. Love the "motor". Your barge on the water until a McMillion mansion owner buys you house. So funny!!! Loved this post, thanks, most interesting. Hope we get to see you overnighting in the houseboat this next summer.❤
FULL STOP Kevin! You're the SOLE KZreadr I do not skip ahead! Tried it once missed something & had to go back ! There have been very few times when you have NOT made me laugh out loud, most times whilst drinking my coffee! I now keep a piece of plastic handy to keep coffee off of my keyboard! BTW, kudos to The wooded Beardsman on his most excellent editing abilities! I'm a 70 something female in California, BELIEVE ME when I say I watch because I learn ( how to tell someone else to do it) & because you ALWAYS make me laugh! My dogs were cuddled up to me when you launched the boat & I LOL so hard I was wheezing, dogs were trying to find the villain that kicked them off my lap! Keep up the fun! Photography & info on icebergs took the cake, now I want that on my bucket list! Goof Off &or any kind of cooking oil works wonders on that residue removal.
Another great video Kevin. Just remember, if you throw that boomerang and it doesn't come back... it's a 'stick' 😂 Cheers from Down Under 🦘
Hey Kevin. For ur stain rags staining is one of my specialty and when I worked for any company we put our rags in a pail of water and after a week or so they are good to dispose of. But ya it will set itself on fire. Seen it first hand. Be safe and awesome job
Full stop. Thanks, Kevin!
You can also have a small "satellite" boat that you pull behind, that holds firewood and other supplies. Also, get yourself a battery power supply. "Clip" flexible solar panels to the roof.
full stop :-) Thanks Kevin
You should use a bit of cooking oil and a new plastic spatula scraper to loosen the film on the Lexan. Wash the oil off with dawn, or any citrus based dish soap and a soft cloth. Cute boat.
Awesome as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along.
“While the icebergs still exist”. (Loll) I adore your vids!! I might visit New Foundland now.
Full stop! I love your videos Kev. They go great with Saturday morning coffee.
For the joint pain, try Voltaren. It is a pain relieving gel. Works great. Thanks for the video
I fell asleep during the making process. But this is my second time watching it. I like it. It’s funny
"So what I want to do is I want them all to be free. I want them to be able to open that way. I want this to open past...how's it it there now? That's new. Anyways." Lol! 😂
Full stop, this is probably the best mini boat house ever built
Full stop. Great little build, I'm really liking the tiny wood stove!.....
Was AWESOME!!! FULL STOP
FULL STOP…Enjoyed the full adventure. (Hope to see the boat on a lake!?)
Full stop, this was an interesting way to spend my Saturday morning… I enjoyed it.
You need to take a piece of EMT and put on that piece of compromise, but to one end toward that you'll have something to hold onto and it'll make it that all thread more stable and then you'll be able to hold that pipe and keep it from going everywhere, but then. You can also put you a little pipe holder on top of your in the middle of your boat and then. Take and screw it down and then you can take that I might get a big bigger one and then it'll least hold it still and keep it going. What do you want it to if you just leave it hanging loose? It won't lose them, but if you screw both sides down on piping. Say you got half inch or 3/4 inch pipe through there well then you put. If you got 3 cords, you put one inch and that way, I'll give you enough billiard. You determined from side to side angle it from side to be able to turn the boat aroand the rod will spin inside the e. M. T. Because you're copper fittings, hold in one spot and the the all thread is just spinning in the middle
Amazing job!!! These builds are so fun. "Come Sail Away", Styx.
Shades of 'The SS Minnow!' Don't boats need bilges? I wouldn't count on the underfloor for dry storage. I would also have kept the superstructure lower, for balance and, particularly for minimizing the effect of cross winds.
full stop,loved it
Full Stop, great to watch this boat build Kevin
Full Stop. I had plans to start building a tiny home before covid started. I finally built it and moved onto my own 2.5 acres 2.5 years ago. I built a 9 foot vardo last year and now I think I know what I want to build soon. Thanks for the inspiration. And I love those small stoves. Have one in the tiny house and I found a small pot belly for the vardo but I might swap them...

Tipadrownyou would be a good name for that boat. LOL
Full stop. Fun one
Full stop and happy cruising Kevin 🙂
Looking at the way my 06 Colorado bed tie-down's are attached to the bed sheetmetal, I think you'd be better off incorporating the chain attachment points for your winch at your frame mounted reciever hitch vs those tie downs which I believe will eventually tear out. Other than that, for protected waters, that looks like a great way to get out on the water and over-night in. Well done!
. Hmm Kevin - always good to see your builds again. I remember this lil Bob the Boat that bobs about and cost only a few bob.
Kevin, this little house boat is awesome. For the rear I would add a roll up awning (tarp) like rv’s have Jerry
FULL STOP Man I love this! Your vibe is so rad just out their making cool stuff and wingin' it but it still turns out amazing!
Full stop....love what you do....have watched you from the beginning and even when you appeared on your brother's channel.... Ron
Full stop, this was a great video, nice change from one of your landlocked houses to a slightly more mobile one, always cool to see how you find ways to make a small space feel large and comfy.
Nothing is over!!! RAMBOAT jr. eh?
With tennis elbow or golfers elbow or any kind of elbow… I recommend using a tens unit for mitigating pain and helping the healing process. It has certainly helped me recover from tennis elbow in both arms which happened more or less simultaneously. Get plenty of rest.
full stop I liked it, I think I would have tried a heat gun on removing the film coating on the plastic.
Full stop! You are one very creative dude Kev. So much fun to watch all your vids full stop!
Full stop...nice lil' boat!
Full stop 😊☮️ great video Kevin what a awesome job on the boat.really enjoyed it thanks.!,
Watch "Quiet Nerd" camper boat build. He put two small pontoons on either side of the front. He attached trolling motors to each one too. There is your propulsion AND your steering and you don't have to be at the back to operate the boat! That would add much to the stability. It's not like you need to lean for high speed or anything!! 😆😄😃
I watch all of it the first time and also this time full stop
Full stop- very entertaining!
Full Stop! Thanks Kevin and Chris for putting the whole build in one video.
Cool idea. Though if you don’t like fishing, then I think your brother could get good use of this little boat on the trailer to use to go ice fishing with! A little canopy and tarped sides and sit there and ice fish off the back.😊
