I love how the videos start as actual engineering iterations and then devolve into chaos, the egg frying was the perfect end card for this journey

Oh man those disks! They came with the motorcycle-lookin bionicle precursors. Loads of memories of those things.

Two times, in fact: The McDonalds Matoran from 2001 threw discs, and the Metru Matoran from 2004 had disc launchers as well as Toa Vakama that year.

@@Datavore Throwbots? I knew them as Slizers. Just looked it up, they were called Throwbots in North America and Slizers in the rest of the world.
Finally, a weapon to surpass Metal Gear
Every design you put out is incredible. Love pairing your videos with morning coffee.
Can we just appreciate the effort that gets put into each video? Great stuff!

fun fact that's the same test LEGO themselves use to see if the launcher is a threat to eyes
This what I dreamed of making as a kid. I love it 😍
The world needs people who never run out of ideas like this guy!
Thank you for not wasting the egg.
My favorite part of all these videos is when his cats come in and try to make sense of whatever this man created
The audio quality is always fantastic in these videos.
Finally, a cheap and easy way to properly weaponize all my spare kanoka disks.
I love that the disc hopper went from not feeding at all, to feeding perfectly and at a decent rate
Throwbots disks! Man what a throwback!

These are the discs from my childhood throwbots. I am happy they had their comeback in a video.
Those clicks when the pieces latch together are so satisfying.
best moment from 0:00 - 8:04 👍
You should make a behind the scenes video about your design and video production process… that would be so cool!
I love the playfulness… I see no eggs were lost in the production of this film.
The last bit with the egg :D yep no food wasted. I hope the cat got some too, as royalties for the quest appearance of course.
This is why I love Lego. Granted, it's not 100% stock, but so much of it is that this could easily be an official set.
I do like when the disk are moving, they travelling on the tread haha Edit: 7:31 he hates that ALUMINUM!
The cat was the real highlight of the video :3
The cat was adorable
Cool cat man. Also loved this build, you're making what all of us wish we could
This is so impressive, I need to know how you figure this stuff out honestly. Your ability to just see an issue, and come up with the exact fix for that issue on these builds is insane. I couldn’t build half of the mechanisms you do if I tried haha. Keep up the great work!
I like the tank. Very accurate shooting. Breakfast anyone?
Listen, I only understand a quarter of what’s happening, but the builds are sick and innovative and all-around chaotic. I love it, thanks.
seeing those discs gave me good memories of the old lego technic disc flinger figures, amazing creation and vid!
This could definitely be considered as an upgrade to the card-shooting tank. My suggestion about the feeding mechanism is to have the disc loaded vertically in a horizontal cylinder and then have it slide down into the belt, like a P90 ammo rack. You can try to strengthen the turret connection as well.
Cutest cat i've ever seen
This thing is freakin intimidating, lordy
I'm not sure if you are aware of this, but LEGO's Mindstorms RCX had a disc shooting robot that was a simpler version of this (in the Ultimate Builders expansion set). I modified it to go on treads as well, so its cool to see that others had that idea!
omg your cat is too precious 🥰
as a 30 year old guy i find this absolutely amazing! what a beast :)
The actual mechanisms you make in these videos are super cool to see in action. Awesome video :)
These videos makes our days better
I love the use of absolutely weaponizing normally underwhelming Lego weapons. Especially with the absolutely menacing noise of that thing revving up. It makes me think of all the other tank possibilities. Mars Mission foam dart array Technic rubber dart array Flick fire missile armageddon Stud shooter / Spring bolt blaster array You could potentially get some Mindstorms parts and make a smart AI tank. Or atleast about as smart as Mindstorms can be, I would love to see the technical challenges overcame and the interesting ways you would circumvent the limitations. I have been thinking about how two brain boxes could communicate, since they arent really meant to directly. Like with two light/camera parts placed against each other flashing messages between the two "hemispheres" of the brain boxes. Or two motors ran into each other, reading their own inputs and translating it into messages. It would get really interesting with several brain boxes, and across generations. Im interested in exploring this myself since I have 2 NXTs and 1 EV3 set. and would love to see how far it can get pushed. It would be really fun to turn it into a game. Have one remote controlled "player", and a Mindstorm tank set to track the player. Probably tracking through color, and give the players vehicle some sort of way to attack the tank.

That would be cool to extend the concept of upgrading existing Lego launchers, we have kanoka, but now, maybe he can do a zamor sphere canon or a way to mecanizing the cordak missile launcher
I haven't thought about those bionicle disks in years! Great build!
Love for the slizers/ throwbots
Your constructions are the most amazing and fascinating Lego ones I've seen.
This is definitely one of my favorite channels on KZread.
I haven't seen those discs in....decades. I remember the old Throwbots. I actually had ALL of them when they came out. Nostalgia hitting hard.
My son sent this to Me! We did many ‘invention projects ‘ when he was a kid! But nothing like this!! You are a master!!! Thank you! Made my day!!!
6:46 cat!
No eggs were harmed in this video.
6:54 This is the mighty DSK-28 It’s suspension is what makes this tank a beast, oh it seems to have broken Back to the drawing board boys
I love that the egg wasn't wasted. :D
It looks like your launching wheels are spinning at the same speed (though obviously in opposite directions). If they were turning at different speeds, it would put a spin on the frisbees as they fire, and they might fly straighter and further. (just a thought)
@roboticd
Жыл бұрын
All I could think about watching this. That's what made old disc firing guns work so well, the spin increases distance and accuracy.
Sorry i missed some of your vids but im back, your vids are always really cool 😎 keep going.😎
Thank you for not hurting the plant this time! Humanity restored
oh man so much nostalgia from those classic discs

raw egg is not good for cats
5:44 i don't quite remember what naming you'll find them under, but online you can look for little push-in-hole rubber feet. I bought like 100 pcs some years ago, and i'm 99.9% sure that you can find them to fit inside the holes of the LEGO tracks. Usually for electronics projects, but they can be for a lot of stuff, including the small cap ends (when they don't use balls) for gel pens. Stabilo used to have little mushrooms like that, which spurred me to look for these tiny rubber feet.
awww i miss those old disk throwing robots, i had almost the whole series.
The egg looks like it's giving a thumbs up at the end. :3
I just loved it when he didn't let the egg go to waste.
the Bionicle fan in me is very happy with this :)
I appreciated the egg being cooked at the end.
Genius! When the Lego mindstorms jump in in your channel it will so cool to see this badass causing mayhem trough sensors and programming!
I remember those wonderful disks and the amazing lego sets they came in. I had all of em!
Love the use of the Throwbot disks!
omg lego slizer disc :( I miss my childhood days. this made me cry
Interesting idea, amazing construction. But what I like most is the way how You do the "speed build". Just click, click, click , move, click. Fast and appealing.
Seriously these things need a gopro camera mounted on them to give first person control. Could you imagine a museum room filled with these?
I really like that Lego the whole community a default where any company in the world builds custom bricks that fit with it. Like metal casted stuff or tiny custom motors. It's really impressive when you think about it.
With the egg at the end, it's like you're slowly becoming the 'How to Basic' of Lego.
The tank is truly awesome! I need one for when my mother in-law visits.
You sir are a GOD of engineering! We bow at your feet, thank you for this most inspiring and entertaining project!
This video had me the instant I recognized throwbot discs amongst those being fired.
This is all very impressive, but damn boy thats quite the throwbot disc collection you got there man.
Love how you even made the egg at the end
Brilliant! Now you need to build an automatic Lego minifigure hospital.
7:13 - Hector when he sees Mr Fring
If I was playing with that tank, I would ABSOLUTELY accompany my leisure with the score to The Terminator.
Love the Throwbots throwback! (No pun intended)
this is so cool, apart from the fact that you use R1 for your trigger and R2 for switching to the next magazine
Hella points for Throwbots discs. What a throwback. Pun intended.
Ah, Throwbots. I miss those guys. Those arms of theirs could really throw those disks.
"Mad genuis" comes to mind. Well done.
this is amazing. i have not seen a better technic creation. ever, hands down. Flawless! 😃
IT'S BEAUTIFUL I'VE LOOKED AT THIS FOR FIVE HOURS NOW
Dude, lego would be making more sales in technic if you were working for them as head of branding and innovation design. So much talent!
Man, throwbots and bionicles. Those are nostalgic.
Wow... I'm Speechless... THIS IS AWESOME
Those discs are nostalgic!
From pure designing to silly chaos, perfect. *Brings this to school LOL*
I like watching this stuff when I’m sick
Now this is some cool improvement 😎👍
The egg at end was a nice touch
3:47 looks like an endgame boss
this thing is a BEAST!
As amazing as the build is, the demo is such great entertainment in itself. 😂
i think if this was an actual lego technic it would be on every christmas list
Your videos are frighteningly therapeutic.
Pretty neat design! My only issue is that it empties the whole magazine in one go, would be nice if there was a way to shoot one at a time rather than all of them before switching to the next rack of ammo. (but maybe you thought about it and couldn't find a way to make it work) Also, suggestion.. Make it wrist mounted. (but that would probably require the user to hold it horizontally, or an entirely new design that takes the rotation of the arm in every axis into account)
