    You two work so well together. If someone is too insecure to watch, their loss! Top job with the tiling. That head bump was a big 'woooahh' from here. Had my fair share of them working in the loft.

    Hi Danni and Joe. Boat is really beginning to take shape. Finishing the ceiling and adding the curtains made it look so much cosier, and great work on the stove hearth area - can't believe you've never tiled before. Was a bit puzzled at the post which described Danni as bossy - we had just been saying to each other at the start of the vlog what a good team you make, giving your own opinions on things but compromising to get the best outcomes - stay just as you are, you seem fine to us and we've just had our 50th Anniversary. Fantastic effort and super progress making another great vlog. Thanks again. George and Trish - CaravanningMacs.

    Thanks George and Trish, congratulations on the anniversary! Yeah unfortunately some people struggle to see that two different personalities work well in a relationship - Danni is the one to tell the waitress or waiter that my order is wrong you see! 😂

    I think it is so rude that someone complains about Danni being bossy, after all the work you two put into this lovely vlog for us to watch each week. Holly the Cafe Boat is a completely different chanel and feels different, I enjoy watching you both. This one I have watched almost from the beginning, and look forward to seeing you both each week and travelling on this journey with you. I think Joe is a total poppet, such a lovely genuine person, and Danni is equally lovely. You make a good team together. Just a quick note guys. Stainless steel is not an efficient reflector of radiant heat (infra red) regardless of surface finish, aluminium is a much better reflector - again regardless of surface finish. So even if you choose mirror finish s/s a matt finish aluminium will be better. Loving the vlogs, stay safe.

    Since either of you folks have a background in what you are doing I think you're doing great. We all have our bossy moments so that is a bit silly. If you have some experience in an issue it is only natural to offer suggestions or guidance to anyone else. If you do anymore painting, you can always use tinfoil to coat a paint tray and then just throw away the tinfoil. Much less clean-up. It is your boat and your life so just 'crack on' as you folks say. Take care and if you don't post anymore too soon have a great holiday season.

    A little tip for you when tiling anything always use PVA and water mix 50-50 coat your back boards first it will stop the suction of the grout that way the tiles will stick better also you shouldn’t use wall tiles under fires do you need proper flooring tiles otherwise they will crack with Heat use some hard wood to go round your harth before you grout

  • @DanniandJoe

    @DanniandJoe

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yeah we’re set on using some oak to surround, we did grout already (next weeks video) as we didn’t want to have to clean the grout off the oak we thought it would be a bit awkward. We’re going to try these tiles fingers crossed, luckily the burner isn’t right against the tiles so might get away with it

Look forward to each one. I’m curious, as to your respective professions. You both mention work in the real world, but not what you do. It was mentioned in an early episode that Danni was a nurse. Snappin that 1/2" hardibacker is always a fight, I've taken to using concrete disks on my grinder. A carbide grit blade on your multitool would work too. And good on you two for wearing your respirators! Silicosis is no joke. I am curious why you guys went with a wood stove vice coal? I've noticed from watching narrowboaters on youtube that coal seems to be rather popular. Here in Connecticut I heat my house with anthracite, can't beat the price.

  • @pmckenz5

    @pmckenz5

    2 жыл бұрын

    Most stoves are classed as MultiFuel stoves and can be used with either wood or coal, however recommendations are to use smokeless coal in urban areas. As a lot of the canals run through towns and cities most have smokeless zones, in the countryside you do not have these restrictions but most boats haven’t the room to store different coals so most narrowboaters use smokeless. A 25kg (50lb) bag of smokeless coal is about £13 (approx $17.50), traditional coal is about £9 but from May 2023 it will no longer be allowed to be sold in the UK.

  • @JohnClarksc

    @JohnClarksc

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@pmckenz5 I had read about the smokeless zones, but their wood burner doesn't appear to have a grate. Does your coal or smokeless fuel not need a grate to burn? We do have a few multi-fuel stove makers here in the US still, but most of them are leaving the business as the EPA wood burning regulations are getting so tight. Whereas if you build a stove only for anthracite it's essentially unregulated.

    The only cables in the ceiling are the LED’s, it seemed a bit excessive to create a channel through the centre for access when any connection is available though the holes for the LED. Actually, my wife made similar comments about Danni after some of the earlier episodes. Bossy it not good management, in fact bossy managers are hated managers and don't get good results in the work place due to causing resentment. The boat appears to be progressing well but please reduce the fast swinging of camera. It seems to be a new camera technique for you guys as it was not the way in earlier episodes. My wife had to give up watching after a few minutes as it was making her feel sick and gave her a headache. (I don't get motion sickness or anything close to it, so not so bad for me beyond it being unpleasant on the eye. However, I don't even feel queasy on a roller coaster - to the extent they boor me, so I am not the person to ask if the wild and fast camera swinging is okay.)
