Building a Ghost Hunting Elite Spirit Stick

In this installment, Kenny takes a shot at building a replica ghost hunting gadget called the Elite Spirit Stick.
After seeing it at several paranormal conferences, he realized this $120 motion sensor glow stick was built with easily obtainable and cheap parts, many ordered from Amazon. Instead of buying one of these gadgets to take apart, he ordered the parts and built one himself. This video is for ghost hunters who believe high-priced (overpriced) gadgets marketed directly to them have some special quality - when in reality, these types of gadgets are no better than many of the motion-activated Halloween decorations one can purchase for a few dollars.
In the video, Kenny invites you into his workshop to follow along as he builds and discusses the gadget, then we see how good the motion sensor is compared to a $10 unit picked up at Home Depot.”

Terrific job Kenny - I'm not sure what I would use this for, and my cats would keep setting it off - but for some reason I now want one.

Way to go! Thank you for sharing. Gotta love that electrical tape. Every vehicle, and every jacket pocket of mine, has at least one roll of electrical tape lol :)

Depending upon how sensitive it is, I guess it would make a fine mouse detector. 🤔

You got to love the irony when alleged ghost detectors use these devices, and the devices don't go off when live humans are around them when we ourselves are supposedly ghosts in a physical body. If these devices are supposed to detect ghosts, every last one of them should be going off anytime any living creature is around them. Its all b.s. as far as I'm concerned.

I used to 100% believe in ghosts because of some past experiences I had and couldn’t explain, but now I’m thinking they could just be chalked up to the placebo effect. Ghost stories have been around since almost the dawn of man yet there’s never been any solid recorded evidence of any kind, and whenever people go into the “most haunted buildings” with all there “paranormal tech” they conveniently never get anything. I now find it hard to believe in something that has no evidence or scientific backing.

All you have to do is mount a chain gun on top of it, and you could sell this to Half Life fans

Still really has no practical purpose. All you can say is a light went off. If I want to implement PIR sensors into investigating, I would rather just put a trail cam (you can get 2 for that $120 price tag these people charge), and at least you have something more substantial than just a noise and a light. You get a photo, a time, a date, temperature, and weather condition. Seems like that would be a better amount of data than "oh a light went off and there isn't even anything to document the light went off unless you were filming it with an external camera.

At 61+, I've never witnessed a ghost in my entire life. As a child, people would always say that places are haunted. I'd go along, and still, no ghosts. I've heard every ghost story imaginable and still, no evidence of a single ghost. When I talk to those who claim there are ghosts, I give them one thing to think about. Humans have been evolving for over a million years, and if we add up all of the past human deaths, we'd literally be shoulder to shoulder with ghosts everywhere we go. They would outnumber the living by the billions and billions. Are Neanderthals and other human beings now extinct, ghosts as well? How do they all know the English language!? Because so many people claim that the ghost talked to them. It's truly amazing that anyone would believe such BS.

To be fair, $120 for a low rate production item with $20 worth of parts is is not uncommon. In fact, I would guess that he is probably charging to little. The material cost of the product is only a fraction of the total cost. Now, that is not to say that he is not scamming people with a worthless prefect!

3 min in you say she realized that ghost hunting equipment doesn’t do what they say it does. … then she buys a piece of ghost hunting equipment… Maybe she needs to stop going to ghost hunting conferences and start being around actual skeptics. Start studying logical fallacy or the scientific method and looking for natural explanations to all problems. Staying around the ghost hunting community is just going to perpetuate a belief that the answer to why there is a cold spot on the house is a spirit. Instead of learning about thermodynamics, insulation, etc.
