Bill Nye and Richard Dawkins in Conversation

Ғылым және технология

We are proud to honor Bill Nye with the prestigious Richard Dawkins Award on Friday, October 27. Renowned evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins will present the award in-person, followed by a live, unscripted conversation between the two iconic science communicators on stage at CSICon 2023. You won't want to miss this.
Bill Nye is an American science educator, engineer, comedian, television presenter, inventor, keynote speaker and New York Times bestselling author. As an Emmy Award-winning creator and television host, Nye helped introduce viewers to science and engineering in an entertaining and accessible manner, fostering an understanding and appreciation for the science that makes our world work. Today, Nye is a respected champion of scientific literacy who has challenged opponents of evidence-based education and policy on climate change, evolution, and critical thinking. He currently serves as CEO of The Planetary Society, the world’s largest and most influential non-governmental space organization, co-founded by Carl Sagan.
Richard Dawkins is one of the most respected scientists in the world and an internationally best-selling author. Among his books are The Selfish Gene, The God Delusion, and his autobiography A Brief Candle in the Dark. He is a fellow of the Royal Society and of the Royal Society of Literature.

In The God Delusion Dawkins has a bullet proof repudiation of God which no one to his knowledge has EVER been able to conflict: "infinite regress". 'Any god must itself be created due to infinite regress'. No where is it evident Dawkins knows the etiology of his infinite regress; perhaps Aeschylus or Archimedes or Thucydides or Hippocampus... he's literally too ignorant to know. IT'S 1ST LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS! "Heat NEVER derives from cold"--ergo THIS universe of heat cannot have begun...only regresses therefore are possible. BUUTTT.... In the 1st chapter of The God Delusion Dawkins stipulates that he will be addressing his arguments against ONLY "supernatural" gods. WTF!! WTF!! Supernatural is BY DEFINITION not constrained by the natural---thermodynamics is "THE MOST PROVEN OF ALL NATURAL LAW" (Einstein). Perhaps knowing the origin of his infinite regress would've helped the c**t....but then again it would fail to explain his myriad and many other prima facie failings of intellect. OF WHICH I HAVE CATALOGED MANY.....

1:00:00 “…there are trees over 10,000 years old”. No. -- The oldest living tree is believed to be the Methuselah tree, a bristlecone pine (Pinus longaeva) located in the White Mountains of California, USA. Unfortunately, the word science has no meaning or understanding. The word should be abandoned. Yet, science simply means asking a question and turning to a particular method to find. the truth. The kids from K onward should be taught the method that we know to discover the truth and to be able to say I Don't Know and go to the method we have discovered to find the truth. We do not need to facilitate the idiots like the speaker of our house who think all the answers to human troubles can be found in the Bible. Teach the scientific method from all years to all children and their parents.

You can agree with somebody on one subject and disagree on another and still get along. This 'all or nothing' mentality only serves to divide us further. Was everything he said about climate change, science education, and creationism flat out wrong because he doesn't agree with your politics or said something you don't agree with? All you're doing is alienating people who might otherwise be on your side on certain issues.
