Building a bike jump out of my front door

Спорт

Today, I'm in possession of a front door. Obviously the only sensible thing to do with this door is to build a bike jump out of it, but we'll need to keep those windows. Find out what we build and more today on Berm Peak.

I've learnt this overtime watching Seth's videos, but it still surprises me how much he shows in his videos, while most other channels would most likely resort to showing highlights, Seth has no Shame in showing difficulties and mistakes during his projects, which I think was well emphasised in this vid, it just gives me a sense of appreciation for the effort put into his videos.

Seth. I know you push safety in everyone of your videos but this thing is not safe and will not hold up to the test of time. The steel is a great idea but shouldn't of cut it and been a few inches above the windows. Then ran down the Door further. You also need to reinforce the door horizontally. Angle brakets from your pilings should do the trick. Hate to be that guy. But your mistake was treating the door like it's a solid peice of wood.

I love your door! The epoxy over the glass was a great idea! I would suggest going out and replacing the metal bracing with some that are 2-3 inches longer so the stresses are carried to the door body(?) better. As you made it, it would keep the wooden pieces from flexing. However, if that door is built like most, it's just one piece of glass held in by trim wood and finish nails. And then trimmed out to look like multiple panes. I don't think trim wood and finish nails would take that kind of abuse for too long. Obviously, I wasn't there to get a good look at it, so my suggestion is just a suggestion. A door. Freakin' awesome 👍
