@@Glassboxgames This is ridiculous, none of what she is doing or the precision achieved requires any fancy tools, and it has been demonstrated by prior videos with that $300 dewalt saw. The better tools just save time and are more pleasant to use... - Any festool domino usage can be replaced by dowels. Not that it was even necessary here, it was just insurance for the glue-up - Any of the cuts made with the fancy saw could've been made with a $300 table saw, the sawstop is mostly insurance for not injuring yourself like crazy if you mess up. That includes the cross cuts. The festool miter saw is convenient, but it's not like a cross cut sled can't do that. I decided against even buying a miter saw at all for myself since my sled works fine and I lack space, and it's not problem at all, it just means that every now and then I have to roll my table saw around a bit if it's something long. Or worse, clamp up a guide for a $70 dewalt circular saw I got on craigslist a few years ago, omg... The only part that is 'kinda' dubious is the usage of the shaper origin, but if you look closer, nothing really instrumental to the build was done with it, it's not like you can't easily make a 4in circle in 30 other ways, such as a router jig or if you're feeling really poor and basic, just do like me for my last table build, trace lines with an improvised compass made with a string and a pencil, cut them close to the line with a jig saw, and creep on the cuts with sandpaper. Fantastic build overall, really like it

Easier fitted sheets change is brilliant. Something only a mom would come up with. So obvious when you see it! That bed looks awesome. And loved how you went drill sergeant on your daughter during the glue up! :)
@claws61821

I don't. If you listen to the laugh you can tell that she's already falling into an actual anxiety attack over it, and what the mother responds with is exactly the thing you DON'T say in that situation to anyone you love or even mildly care about if you understand anxiety attacks and anxiety disorders. That's not to say that this event is deliberate psychological abuse, but it's definitely not simply the cute fun moment that the mom hopefully intended it to be and that you interpreted it as. If you ever hear your child laugh like that, STOP and PAY ATTENTION to what's going on, and either calm yourself and them or get one or both of you out of that situation, whichever is most appropriate.

@claws61821 Or.. Or it was one of million situations that children need to face and learn as they grow up in a non cotton candy walled world. These jumps to "traumatic experience" is bizarre. It's almost as if the goal is to brag about being the most wounded. It's especially egregious when you are practically calling her out for emotional abuse. WTH.
@claws61821

@@hansangb You want "jumping to conclusions? How about going from me coming as close to saying "benefit of the doubt" as you can without either using the words or completely dismissing the situation, to you accusing me of accusing her? Or how about the fact that you have the gumption to say all that forces me to the conclusion that you don't know squat about anxiety and how it works in either the short term or the long term?

@@claws61821 This is the reason why Tamar goes to such lengths to shield her children. There's nothing REMOTELY traumatic or "nearly" traumatic or even WHIFF of being traumatic. It was just a glue up *NOTHING* more. Res Ipsa Loquitur But you do you.

That lathe jig on the table saw is amazing! So much faster than traditional turning and as you said more accurate!

Good idea if you have no lathe. But an experience turner would do this quicker without having to make a jig.

I find myself pressing the like button within the first few seconds of your videos. Why? Because you’ve consistently put out so much good material that I’m *that* confident-and *that* quickly-that I’m going to learn something useful and cool. I tried other "free" things and ended up paying Sketchup $250 for it. It really is the best for planning / designing woodworking projects. Especially cabinets. Get used to the idea that you're going to spend a few hours on your first design and then scream, throw it away and start from scratch all over again. Unless you're really lucky, the first few things you design will be for learning the tool. You'll throw them away and start over again a few times, but each time you start over you'll go faster and faster until you'll finally be able to throw down a good design in about 15 minutes. It's frustrating but worth it.
I love woodworkers who create their own jigs; inventive jigging really is the soul of fine woodworking and you're definitely captured it. Great work!
Absolutely, my favorite woodworker on youtube! Izzy and others do amazing stuff, but none explain like Tamar or have shown us how to do things without having really expensive equipment. The builds are always super unique too!

Beautiful build! As always, I love your tips and tricks. I saw your short on that kick back awhile back, but it was nice to see it in the context of the build and see how even if you’ve done something again and again with no issue - all it takes is once… I love, love, love how involved your kids were, especially that your daughter wanted to help so much! It’s wonderful every time I see a maker involving their kids or grandkids, getting them interested in making-doing-creating. Again, the bed is just beautiful. Bravo on another great build! 😊

Beautiful work as always! I bet she's thrilled with it, I got into woodworking myself as a kid messing around with my dad on various projects. Side note- my old shop teacher's favorite hobby was to go around and yank the string out of hoodies whenever he saw a student wearing one in the shop, he did manage to ingrain in me to be nervous AF to have anything hanging near running tools. In my shop I've always opted to just tie a knot in the ends of the string just outside the eyelets and snip off the excess string instead of removing it. Be safe and keep up the inspirational work, peace! :]
