Inês Correia same! I’m from Hawaii. Most people will have a 10 foot patch of grass in the front of the house that’s our yard.😂😭

Lmao I’m from Portugal also but if you live out in the country like I do there’s plenty of space to make a nice big rink.

Hello from Russia, my friend! Awesome playground! You are really great!
So jealous. I tried every year as a kid to flood my back patio. It just would not stay cold enough long enough to make it work.
Well done perfect rink
wow, I have watched at least 10 videos, yours is the best. Very simple and on point. thanks
Great video. Gets right to the point! Thanks!
We built a 60’x30’ DIY Rink. We bought two 100’x20’ rolls of 6 mil Poly from HD at about $80 each. Since we’d have a seam to seal in the middle, we looked around for the best tape. Viper tape was recommended, but it’s pretty expensive for the 60+ feet we required. Other tapes (e.g. Gorilla, others) are either VERY expensive and/or have POOR ADHESION to the Poly. We tried and had very good success (Great adhesion, waterproof - no leaks) with 3-3/4 in. x 90 ft. ZIP System Tape (Flashing Tape) from HD. $25 Bucks for the roll. So if you’re gonna spare some cost and use Tarps or need to seal seams on Poly, I highly recommend this tape - it’ll get the job done and won’t break the bank.
Awesome Dad!
Thank you Derek, this will be my first year and attempt at this and I have found your video extremely helpful. Don`t know if mine will turn out as nice as yours but I hope I can upload a nice video within the next couple of weeks to show my progress. Thanks again... from Wolf country.
Great dad!!

Hello! Do you need Liners or Ice rink for backyard? We are the leading manufacturer of Liner and Ice rink products in China, if you have any need, please contact me. Email: scarlet@sdxxhg.com
Pretty sweet thanks for sharing! From YellowGrass SK.
I live where temps almost never drop below freezing, but I lived much further north in my childhood. Dad turned the backyard garden into a rink in the winter, and we grew veggies in the spring and summer.
Awesome dad
ok well first I'll need a house
I use mdf boards that I router on both sides of the board (top side). This gives me a smooth surface if the kids fall on it with no slivers to worry about. I also use 1/2 conduit electrical pipes for my stakes since they will drive easily into frozen ground , then screw the stakes to the mdf about 2 below the top of the board to keep everything rigid until I await for the perfect day to lay the plastic and pour the water,. The ideal perfect day to pour water is at least 3 days of below zero F weather. (below 20 F minimum, the colder the better, no wind (otherwise you get wavy ice), no snow. It all depends if you have level ground, I have some places that are 1 foot deep to 3 inches(min height) of water, thus the i foot deep takes a good 3 days to freeze solid in brutal -20 F f day and night. I already got frost working in -20 weather, but you do not want no organic material in your liner or you will have cookie cutter holes or bumps in your ice. I usually do this all by my self which is again a challenge in -20F with laying the plastic. I use bricks to hold the plastic down temporarily. You have top really be gentle with the plastic in very cold weather, since it will easily crack when you step on with boots.
Great video, Merci. I have been asked to help run an outdoor rink at a local park. My first time being involved in this type of project. The people who ran it in the past have said they don't want to use a liner because it costs well over $1000 and is a waste of money. So we'll see how my first winter goes, and if I (we) can get a sheet of ice going by starting on bare grass. As always, Mother Nature needs to cooperate,
that wood is hurting my ocd more of it is on the right side of the net 😫 anyways great video!
Thanks for sharing your experience. With the initial larger volume floods, do you just use the hose directly or do you fill containers and dump a large volume at once? Also, I am not so sure that hot water would freeze faster, but I could see how it could bond better when resurfacing. Thank you!
This year we made a rink and it rained all week then froze so we didn't end up paying for any water lol
Thanks for sharing. What kind of liner do you use? And where do you get it? Also, how big is your rink?
Hey, you put the liner down on top of the snow? From what I have found out from my research is you shouldn’t lay the liner down until the day before you are ready to flood due to debris. If you or anyone could shed light on this that would be awesome. Thanks
Do you think I just need to stake the board of I have one end 20" of ice ? Or do you think I need more support. Thanks
What type of liner do you use and where do you purchase them?

theres industrial sites online where you can but them, just look up ice rink liner and theyll pop up edit: or just look up plastic liners so its probably cheeper than buying one from a rink store
How do you combat debris off trees? I have a ton of white pines near my site and am curious if this will make it a no go. Do you just leaf blow it clean? If small debris freezes in do you have to raise the level with more water?
i build a rink every year for the last 40 years and have never used a liner, my rink is 60x150. in all fairness i have heavy equipment
I stay on top of my yard. When it melts or it time to clear the water, how bad will it brown the grass?
Can you believe this is July in Saskatchewan?

Минус тому кто ставит минус.
