Love the video... I like to switch up methods based on different ice conditions and situations... Torch vs mounds / or even areas due to snow build up or crazy weather.. it’s my main repair tool, just be careful along your boards if your tarp/plastic sheeting is exposed. Extra trick with the torch, if you have a lil helper with a mop they can follow you where you have melted the ice and help distribute the water from the melting. I find that this really helps that next level finish.. Homboni for regular maintenance with great level ice Garden hose for small flooding or minor re-leveling... Like any artisan, different tools of the trade help keep your ice as “Glassy” as it can be... I tell you this from Sioux Falls, South Dakota where our weather is up and down.. very inconsistent but always seems to be at extremes...

This is a masterclass right here! 👌👌
Hey Jeremy, I was able to master the smooth surface over the years. The last few with the rink I had glass every time. The biggest trick, (you covered most everything else) is that I always shovelled it off followed by clearing any residual snow with a push broom. This cleared all "impurities" (impurities meaning snow, small chunks of ice etc.) then flooded with my homemade zamboni (similar to yours) with full hot water. Glass. Every time.
My odr is ready too let’s go

Hey Jerr. My bud and I ran a hot water line to the cold water tap inside the furnace room. Also installed a shut off to complete the bypass. 20 min with pex and shark bites . No extra waterlines through the walls! Cheers an keep up the great videos. J. From somewhere.
I enjoy these videos so much! Ugh my son's hardly been able to hockey this yr due to covid.. and hes a late beginner still so he needs his practice.
Love watching your videos buddy and I think Jeremy won that one sorry Haden 🏒😂 nice tips for the rink as well!

It's going to be cold enough where I live that I could make an outdoor rink. But it would only last a day or two. And only maybe.

I used to have a outdoor rink a couple years back...we used the PVC pipe Zamboni to clear it...it worked so well😁
Always great videos your region lockdown is just about done rinks are opening back up can’t wait for some men’s league snipe videos
Put a 2 by 4 on top of the towel to keep pressure on the ice

Bad thing is, you’re going to have to do all that after each time you skate! Good plan though, that ice looks nice
Really entertaining to watch. One day I want to live in Calgary and build my own ODR
I’ve heard the flame option can leave fuel residue on the top of the ice from the combusted propane.
Love the video. I have a rink two and love the odr vids. I have a question. Can you post more often?
Dont typically get really really cold weather in Missouri so I wasnt prepared but I rigged up a small rink on my porch with junk from my garage.
My friend and I have been flooding our local odr with a homemade zamoboni super similar to yours. We run our water at around 120 degrees f and it realky works! P.S if you want to stop the leaks a little gorilla tape or gorilla glue goes along way😁
@Coach Jeremy What is the metal stick you are using at 12:06 called? Looks cool!
What are those pieces that you connected the shut off valve called, or can you provide a link. Thanks
Top ten!!
Fire
You mentioned “bar down” I had their Tik Tok channel post our video of our homeboni took cool!
Look in to wood fired outdoor furnaces...diy options are out there...smoking hot water if set up for the flow required for resurfacing...
Polar vortex is blessing us all this winter!
They are going to love me at the odr when I show up with this
I’m so mad about my front yard rink - half full, discover I have a hole in my liner. Reordered a second, it should arrive by Thursday. Very jealous of your pad.
me living in california wishing i had an odr watching this like:🥲
Our let’s go
I’m impressed with tool collection you got there also rocking the colt
I hook the hose to the hot water tank
Bill bye the science guy lol
Maybe cover the rink?? No more bumps
Hey Jeremy, here in Italy we have Lockdown due to corona so we can‘t go play some outdoor hockey...but your videos are so cool and everytime I watch em, i forget about corona and all problems ...lots of support from NortItaly❤️

Hayden, I have that exact same Leafs hoodie, good style man
so i got a pond in the back that is larger than that small rink. i had to go overkill. i have a garden tractor with a snow blower attachment on the front. i pull a harbor freight trailer behind it which has a 55 gallon drum for water. i insulated it, also installed a outdoor propane shower heater to recirculate the water and keep it hot. behind it i made a resurfacer like the one you have out of pvc and a towel. the next solution i am trying is to make some kind of dump system like one of those huge buckets at a splash park to be able to flood the ice with huge amounts of water in one shot, with a large volume of water it will spread evenly fast.
you inspired me to make a big puddle in my yard to skate. i live in south east pa so i only get ice for a short time
Bro you think that is cold we are getting -50
Alright, who gave the crazy guy a weapon of mass destruction?
When did you get the ADV
Cool
What if you put a on the roof of the odr to keep snow flakes out The and then a tarp over the net and then you can just remove the tarp and remove all the snow
Do you happen to sell propane and propane accessories 😂 but you could just do bucket dumps of tap water in the early evening the night before if you wanna skate come morning, my 24x48 rink looks like a dream every morning (:
I have the exact same ice resurfacer for my ODR
Lol

Hi Coach!
Question regarding built bars: Do they contain nuts? I can do peanut butter but it has to be the creamy kind but I’m actually allergic to nuts.

He made this entire video about the ice and didn’t show him using it lol
It is also GREAT for starting bonfires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are soooo welcome everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi coach jeremy
Hank Hill is proud Who knew a hockey rink could be a propane accessory
Hey
Yup that was genius!
Only ogs remember the colt stick
Coach you should try this you grab a bucket put three holes at the bottom put two holes on the opposite side by the handle tie string around the two top holes once the bucket is done then clamp a towel to the side with bottom holes then put it on the rink then fill it up and ride away
Im getting flexed on we cant even get froven lakes

Best way to flood without hot water is deck broom the fine ice dust off and 5 gallon bucket. Just throw the was out. Resurface wicked without a lot of set up
Yikes man….i was worried you were going to poke your eye out with the drill at 8:30

7:04 Curling Rink ice ...... !
That's a dangerous use of propane, I tell ya HWAT
wouldn't it be way easier if you build a roof for the rink so that it can't snow onto the rink?
Try walking backwards doing it so you don’t step through it. Maybe have someone help with the propane bottle.
At the end of the day, do an open hose hot water flood.
Play some BTO while THE BTU's go to work .
I have synthetic ice
You got ice spoiled.
