You need some sports netting in front of those windows. Ask me how I know.
So clever
I think if you could record full the process step by step, it's gonna be great more. Yup it's great, thank you guys, keep going :)

Thanks! Yea I got ahead of myself when building the rink and didn't film it all. However, I detailed everything with links in the blog post here: rogueengineer.com/diy-backyard-ice-rink-accessories-tutorial/
Do you know the exact dimensions of the rink ? thanks, it looks awesome!
I was so hoping youd rig a riding mower to be a zamboni. Does this damage grass at end of season? I'm thinking it doesn't since its dormant anyway.
Cool...haha Great job in design and construction. Kids and water in any form = fun. I didnt think the Kreg screws would last, however they are my go to's too. You can purchase most screw head types ie; bugle, flat, washer head with #2 square drives, or just any drive that you prefer at McFeelys.com I didn't see the link for the liner. Peace

Thanks! And you are right. Those screws won't last but its what I had and I plan on tossing when I disassemble at the end of the season. The liner is white 6mil plastic sheeting. Smaller sizes in clear can be picked up at most big box stores but for bigger sizes I found the best deal here: goo.gl/15BG8u

Thanks for the reply. Will check out your source. I live in NC now, and we have a ski resort that has a similar outdoor rink. If I recall the man that maintains it said it is 8 mil. Cool thing is it has grommets every 3 or 4 feet. By year 2 my tarps were duct tapped , however I would try to get 3 years out of them.
