I live in Alaska. We have a publicly owned frozen lake near my house they decorate and keep smooth all winter for skating. :) Wonderful idea for icy towns.

Get Rubbermaid bin Drill a few small holes near bottom Get a piece of rubber and screw into side of bin higher than holes. Bin Zamboni. Dump warm water in bin and drag. Worked well for me on budget

A kid I played hockey with had an outdoor rink and his dad resurfaced it with a snowblower that had the auger replaced with a big wire brush. We'd follow behind him with stiff bristled push brooms and shovel the shavings into buckets that would be brought inside to melt and spread on the ice at the end of the session. Worked pretty good.

Wow, when I was a kid living up north, we just hoped the vacant lot next door flooded and froze in a relatively even surface!! And we usually got pretty lucky... If not, we knew the areas to avoid!

First time this year making a rink! I have made a lot of mistakes on the way but almost there I got about 8”-6” of ice with 2 nights of hot water passes with my home made Zamboni pretty much the same in the video, I still have some wavy areas, along with some bumps, any suggestions to work these out or just keep going with the Zamboni? As well how much is to much when Zamboni the ice?

Build a rink in the Atlas Mountains or Ruwenzori. Then just commute to your rink. It shouldn't take to too long. On my screen the distance looks to be about three inches.

@@waterskier91 after the snowfall last night my perfectly flat mirror ice rink is a bumpy mess yet it isn’t hard enough for me to put my weight on ugh I hope after a few more days of cold it will be hard and I can try a combination scraper, resurface and warm water as needed to get it back to where it was before.
